:: "Sadness is always the legacy of the past;" ::'Momo, your man told me Dahyun is asking my whereabouts. What's going on?' A beep chip in, breaking the silence between the raven-haired woman and her cousin. She took a glance at the popped-up message on the screen before putting aside, facing her cousin as the latter gave her a cough.
"Where were we?" It's been half a day since the revelation earlier, Mina was in great shock but her curiosity brought her here to seek more of it. Therefore she asked for her cousin to meet up after work.
"The faceless people, do you know them?" Mina asked, desperation and eagerness are shown in those light brown orbs.
"Ah right," Momo placed her fingers under her chin, eyes squinting into a thin line as she hummed. "They are faceless, how would I?" She joked despite her cousin is in all seriousness, hands rubbing on her knees showing another effect of nervousness.
"Please Momo," Mina begged, adding force onto her knees, "l know you do."
"It's your story to remember my cousin." Said the raven-haired woman with crossed legs back leaning on the wall behind. Mina with a sigh buried her face in her palms. She knows the raven-haired woman won't tell her anything more since it has always been their goal for her, to remember everything. Yet what Mina has evermore been expressing is, she can't. No matter how hard she tries it's always fragments of pieces, either experiencing through some hell-like sceneries, escaping and running or the same people appearing.
"I can't Momo, it's not that I don't want to but I don't know how." Sighing frustratedly, she continues, "Nothing comes up even if I force myself to." True, she tried, but it never did. A pure blank was all she saw. "There's as if a chain, chaining up the hippocampus of mine, barring it with the unbreakable lock. Tell me Momo, how do I unlock it?" The itching heart of Mina, the despairing state of hers, how wretched a being can be. It made Momo immersed in her thoughts, the key to the lock. Rather than saying it's something, it's more likely someone.
She stroked her knuckles before taking a glance at her cousin who's staring at her with the tiniest hope remaining. Momo went back smirking, folding her arms behind her head, the answer is already there. It has always been there.
"Chaeyoung."
"Eh?"
"Son Chaeyoung. She's the key." Mina's brows met at the mention of the cub. Momo seemed to understand the confused expression plastered on her cousin's face which she added a query that made Mina sank in her voice. "When did you start having these dreams again?" A long silence interrupts not until Momo uttered, "As far as I know from Jihyo, it stopped after you graduated from high school." This got Mina, even more, it indeed stopped for a while. And it started again after... The blond closed her eyes to swim in her ocean memories, she opens every visible door in her mind and there it is, she recalled. It was the day after her and Chaeyoung's diary incident. The day she found out the cub's hidden feelings towards her when she's still a hopeless homophobic.
"Chaeyoung," Mina gave herself a subtle nod, "It became more frequent after we date, to think of it, I've always found her strangely familiar." The raven-haired woman nodded in approval, she knows her cousin has perpetually been the smartest among the family, even than her twin sister.
"Since you've figured my job here is done," Momo said, standing upright and pats her leather jacket, straighten her collar. "I'll be leaving," Ready to go as she wave when she stopped again with a finger snap. "Oh almost forgot, Ji-chan will be coming with me."
"Wait what?"
"You didn't know?" Mina's forehead creased while Momo let out a short chuckle, "Ji-chan will be following me back to Japan, my cousin. Chaeyoung will be taking care of you Mitang."
