'It's too hot'
'We're in Cyprus what did you expect?'
'Not this'
Jack had been complaining about the heat all morning, rolling around on the bed in just his boxers like a toddler that didn't want to go to bed. I finished curling my hair and slipped into my white bikini. Wondering back out of the bathroom I found my beach jacket and slipped into it as well as my slides that Jack had bought me and insisted I wore at any given opportunity.
'Put these on and let's go' I threw Jacks black swim shorts at him and he groaned again, putting them on and racking through his hair with his hands. He took my hand in his as we wondered out of the hotel room and along the resort to the pool.
Jack had managed to get us a private decking area where we would spend the majority of our honeymoon lounging around in the sun.
Laying my towel down on the sun lounger I got myself comfortable and watched as Jack attempted to do the same, somehow managing to fall off at-least twice.'I'm telling you it's this heat, it's melted my brain' I rolled my eyes at him and laid on my side to face him as he finally got himself comfortable.
'If you don't like heat, why'd you book Cyprus?' With a raised eyebrow I put the question to him and watched as he furrowed his eyebrows and attempted to answer the question.
'Can I get either of you a drink?' A waiter came into the area with a small iPad in his hands, ready to take our order. I turned to Jack who had the menu in his hands, pondering over what to have.
'Just lemonade for me' the idea of a ice cold lemonade cooled me down on its own and I was beginning to agree with Jack about the heat, feeling it beating down on me harder and harder with every minute that passed.
Jack ordered his beer and the waiter headed off to get them for us.'So, baby names?' I chuckled at Jack as he smiled at me with the biggest smile I've ever seen.
'We don't even know the gender yet' I added and Jack sighed, rolling onto his back and very nearly loosing his balance for the third time this morning.
'What do you think it is?' He asked, putting his sunglasses on and handing me mine from my bag that was in between our two sun beds.
I thought for a minute, running my hands around my small bump and smiling down at it.
'I think it's a boy' I grinned, I knew deep down Jack was hoping for a boy, someone to have a kick about with and turn into a mini version of him.
'A mini Grealish ay' I smiled and Jack pecked my lips, standing up he looked around the crowded pool. A few football fans had spotted him and I watched on as he did his best to be polite whilst kindly asking them to bugger off.
I laid back on my sun lounger and closed my eyes for what I thought was only five minutes but was soon awoken by wet hair laying on my stomach. I jolted up right and saw Jack shaking his drenched hair all over me. I pushed him away and yelped as the cold droplets landed on my skin.
'Jack stop it!' With a chuckle he stepped back ans began collecting our things from the area. I gave him a puzzled look as he had his hand outstretched to me, asking me to take it.
'Let's go to our pool' in one swift motion I was up and we wondered slowly back to our room. The sun had calmed down slightly from the previously violent heat and I finally felt as though I could breath in some fresh air.
'You getting in?' Jack asked as we approached the infinity pool attached to our room.
It looked out on the scenery, the green hills and the trees and the beautifully blue sky. I could stay here forever.I dipped my toes into the water, it was a refreshing feeling and I relaxed into the feeling as the water lapped around my ankles. I took my phone out of my bag for the first time since we got here and turned it on. My social media's were full to the brim with messages but I ignored them all, instead tapping on my camera app and snapping a quick shot of Jack as he looked out over the edge of the pool.
He saw me snapping the photo and began to swim over with I smirk, I attempted to shuffle backwards away from him but I was too slow and soon found myself being pulled into the water by his strong arms.
I giggled as he twirled me around in the water, my legs flowing behind me as we moved through the water.'It's so peaceful I don't ever want to leave' Jack was right, this was the most at peace either of us had been for the past three years and once we went back to the UK, the countdown was on for Jack and I to find out forever home and prepare ourselves to welcome our little one.
But before that we had a jam packed ten days in Cyprus to enjoy and pretend the future wasn't as imminent as it was.'You want to go for food tonight or order in?' Jack asked as he placed me back on the side of the pool and got himself out of the water, draping a white towel around his neck, highlighting his tanned skin.
'Mmmm' I pondered for a minute and watched Jack with a smirk as he rolled his eyes, he always gets so annoyed when I won't make decisions, so I've taken to making my thinking process extra long just to wind him up.
'Think any longer and your going back in that pool' he threatened with his long index finger pointing directly at me, I smacked it away and stood up.
'Eat out'
'I would but I might lick the babies head' I couldn't help the way my mouth fell wide open at Jacks joke, pushing him away from me as he chuckled to himself.
'Your actually disgusting you know that?' I raised my eyebrows at him with a small smile as Jack continued to giggle to himself all the way back to our room.
'You love me really' I smirked, pressing his forehead against mine and resting his large hands on my waist.
'I do'
