'OW! Braxton that's my hair' I yelped as the toddler grabbed a handful of my hair and tugged at it harshly.
He giggled and rolled onto the floor returning his attention back to his toys that were scattered all over his play mat.We had been sat at home all day whilst Jack was out, he had his debut for Man City over at the Etihad today but on account of Braxton needing 24/7 entertainment we decided it would be best to watch and support from home. Unluckily for me that meant being a human climbing frame for the day.
I got myself down on the floor with him and began playing with his toys, wiggling the teddies around in his face and tickling him making him giggle.'Say mumma' I worded and he stared blankly at me, his face not moving at all. I attempted this several times before finally giving up and retuning to the sofa.
Braxton had been saying little things for about a week now and I was hoping mumma would be next but apparently not, he still much preferred dog and bag.
I turned to the clock and saw the time, switching the TV on Braxton's head snapped up and he fixated his eyes on the screen.'Come on, cuddle mummy' I grinned and he waddled over to me, climbing up the sofa like it was a mountain and plonking himself in my lap.
We sat in silence watching the pre match tv, the only other sound to be heard was the occasional fart or belch from Brax. After about an hour of waiting the game finally started and I smiled with pride as Jack was shown coming onto the pitch.I pinched Braxton's sides and he giggled, beaming up at the telly as he watched his dad running and doing what he did best. The game was going amazing and Jack had been putting on an incredible performance. I was even surprised to see Braxton still awake at half time.
As the rest of the game played out it became more intense, my stomach was in bits as I knew how important this was to Jack, how much he had prepared and how much he so desperately wanted to impress the Man City fans. Just as I was worried he'd been disappointed with himself, the speakers of the tv erupted with screams and applause, the screen showing Jack making a goal and running to the fans with a big smile on his face. I jumped up in the air and span Braxton around as he laughed to himself.'Daddy did it baby!' I smiled and pressed a kiss to Braxton's puffy cheeks.
Sitting back down I took in a big breath and let myself release the sigh of relief I didn't know I'd been holding. Braxton fidgeted in my lap before standing up and walking over to the TV his face inches from the screen, I was about to get up and move him when he turned around to face me, his arm and index finger pointing at the screen where Jack could be seen.
'Dada' he spoke and my mouth dropped open. He giggled at my facial expression and said it again, repeating it over and over only making the smile on my face grow wider.
I walked over and tackled the small boy onto the ground tickling him and ruffling his brown hair all over the place causing him to burst out into fits of laughter.'Mummy loves you little one' I mumbled into his neck as I kissed it whilst tickling him, his little hands attempting to push me away.

'Here' I handed Braxton his dinner and he smiled grabbing at the pieces of cheese and fruit with his hands, most of it landing on the floor.
I sighed and walked back into the kitchen, Jack would be home soon and I wanted Braxton to be down for the night before he got home but that wasn't looking very likely. I sipped my tea and watched in the doorway as Braxton ate his dinner and starred out of. the window that looked over into the garden.
'Dada love dada love' he repeated and I smiled, my eyes filling with happy tears as I watched on, his face now covered in pieces of food. As I headed over to the table the door swung open, I span around and saw a very tired looking Jack stood in the door way.
'Babe!' I squealed running over and jumping into his arms, he hugged me tight and pressed a kiss to my cheek, 'you did so good, I'm so proud of you' I grinned and he thanked me putting me down and following me into the dining room where Braxton was now throwing his plate onto the floor.
'I'm going to kill this child in a minute' I groaned beginning to tidy up the incredible amount of mess he had managed to make in a space of minutes.
'You been giving mummy trouble little guy?' Jack asked as he scooped Braxton out of the chair and walked over to me. I smiled at the pair of them and paused for a moment, taking in everything that I had.
'You got something to tell daddy?' I asked Braxton and he giggled hiding his face behind his hands but slapping Jack in the face in the process.
'Say it then' I urged tickling his tummy and putting the kettle on ready for Jacks coffee.
Jack looked at Braxton, a confused look on his face as I smiled at the pair of them before Braxton finally opened his mouth and said what I was so desperately hoping he would.
'Love dada'
Jacks eyes went wide as he brought Braxton even closer to his body, embracing him in a hug much to Braxton's disgust. I smiled at the pair of them as Braxton repeated the sentence every time Jack looked down at home until eventually he was too tired to carry on and was ready for bed.
Jack got Braxton down in his cot, spending a while reading his favourite book to him and making sure he was settled before he came along to our room.
He laid himself on the bed next to me and wrapped his arm around my shoulder bringing him into my chest.
I smiled at the sound of his heart gently beating underneath me and lifted my head up to face him, his gorgeous chocolate brown eyes looking down at me.'Who'd of thought all those years ago, we'd be here' I smiled and Jack pressed a kiss to my forehead in response.
'I wouldn't change a thing' he grinned and I agreed returning my head back to laying on his chest.
Despite everything that had been thrown at us in life, we had come through it together, stronger and better than before. Life has taught us so many lessons, so many precious lessons that we will both cherish for the rest of our lives and that's the most beautiful gift of all.
