I'd barely slept all night, tossing and turning worried sick about Braxton. I knew Jack was the same because every time I woke up I'd find him sat up in bed eyes wide open and thumbs scrolling around his phone screen.  When I eventually woke up at a decent hour I headed for a shower, the water was warm enough to release the tension that my shoulders had been holding but cool enough to wake me up some more.
I applied the prescribed cream to my stitches and my stomach, it stung so bad as it went into the stitched areas and I winced at the sharp sensation. I managed to get myself dressed into some grey joggers and a hoodie, throwing my hair up into a bun and leaving my face make up free. As I exited the bathroom I was greeted by the smell of pancakes, I smiled and headed in the direction of the kitchen where I found Jack cooking away.

'Morning princess' he smiled as he handed me a plate of pancakes and a cup of tea.

'Thankyou' I grinned and sat down on the sofa, the bar stools in the kitchen were far to hard for me to sit on at the moment.

'You want to go to the hospital soon?' Jack asked me, coming to sit down next to me and placing his warm hand on my thigh. I nodded at him and lent my head on his shoulder with a sigh.

'I just want to bring our baby home, where he can be safe and loved' my voice was weak, my throat sore from the continuous crying I'd been doing over the past week and a half. 

Jack and I drove to the hospital with the radio on quietly in the background, his hand on my thigh tracing circles as we drove along.

'It is suspected that Jack Grealish's wife Sage Grealish has in fact given birth to their baby three months early at just 29 weeks, their representatives have been contacted for a statement' my ears pricked up like a fox as I heard mine and Jacks name being mentioned through the speakers of the car.
Jack looked over at me and gave me a reassuring smile and I sighed.

'What should we do?' I asked as he turned into the hospital car park. We parked up and he turned in his seat to look at me, taking both of my hands in his.

'What do you want to do?' I didn't have a clue what I wanted, I don't want the world to be able to get to little Braxton, to hurt him and damage him the way they did to me when people found out about Jack and I's relationship.

'I want to own the narrative' I smiled and Jack agreed guiding me out of the car and back up to the room where Braxton was.
Luckily for us he was awake when we arrived and one of the nurses was in there giving him his bottle for the morning.

'Morning you two' the nurse grinned as she finished feeding Braxton taking the bottle away much the tiny humans disgust.

'How is he doing this morning?' Jack asked, dropping his arm protectively around my shoulder and bringing me closer to him.

'Really well, the infection has cleared up, BPM  is at a normal pace and he's feeding like a champ, it's all looking up' the smile on the nurses face was so reassuring I felt as though I could have burst into tears there and then.
Jack brought me in for a proper hug as the nurse left the room.

'Thats reassuring, right?' He smiled and I nodded, wiping the tear that had managed to escape my eye and fall onto my cheek.

'You want to do what we spoke about in the car?' Jack asked and I agreed, we walked over to Braxton's incubator and smiled down at the bundle of blankets and skin as he gazed up at us, his eyes were blue like mine and his skin was beginning to develop a skin tone close to Jacks.
