Yes.
My will to live.
It's my birthday.
Unfortunately.
I've never liked my birthday, at all.
There's multiple reasons as to why I don't enjoy it that I don't feel like discussing.
I walked into work ready for Anika or Rue to throw balloons at me and wish me a happy birthday while singing, but instead I was greeted with an average smile and a good morning.
Sitting down I checked my phone not seeing any text messages making me furrow my eyebrows at the screen.
Rue walked out handing me a coffee, "Two sugars, right?"
I nodded, "Thank you."
"I thought we could all use a pick me up," they said, before walking away.
I tilted my head realising they forgot.
They as in all my friends.
I could just tell them and remind them, but as you know I don't enjoy my birthday, so I won't bring it up.
Birthdays aren't even necessary, they're just there for fun and if you want to celebrate it. I think at least.
Am I still allowed to be a little upset they forgot?
I'm being hypocritical.
No, that wasn't the right word.
I'm a petulant person.
Yes.
As my phone lit up I glanced down before smiling seeing the text.
Kaz:) : Happy birthday🎂🥳🎈🎈🎈
Me: Thank you‼️
Me: Why are you already awake it's Saturday and before eleven?
Kaz:) : To text you I'm going back to sleep now 🤜
