I regained consciousness with my head pounded, it hurt so badly. I woke up in some kind of vehicle. I felt it lean left and right as I felt the rumble of the engine. I tried to get up, but my hands were bound by ... rope. 'Rope? Rope actually works? What, is this some kind of storybook?' thinking to myself.
I sat up by pushing on my hands and sitting up. I looked over, the 2 soldiers that I was fighting earlier were sleeping while sitting in seats. I looked around and I was in some kind of enclosed hull with the sound of a helicopter outside. 'Whatever, when we get back to base, things will be cleared up' I thought.
I sat up and sat in the seat next to the girl and buckling myself in. The aircraft turned gently and then nosed up gently, the girl slid down onto my lap. She looked younger than me. Her red hair was so pretty. I gently pulled her hair behind her ear and gently ran my fingers through her scalp then closed my thumb around it. It felt... clean. Like. Conditioned clean! Speaking of, I lost my ponytail, somehow.
The sound of something mechanical was happening, it startled me, then a crash. My heart was beating fast in my sudden panic. 'Another attack!?' I thought. The girl sat up and yawned. Seeing her so relaxed put me right back to the same feeling, but still on alert.
"Sleep good?" I asked gently. She looked at me, gently blushing.
"Whatever Legionaer," She said in a hostile tone. She sat up and hit a button on the ceiling, the floor started to move, I pulled my feet up in reflex. It was a ramp.
It stopped once it hit the ground, the shine of morning sun filled the bay, bouncing off the concrete. I unbuckled myself and looked at her.
"I'm not Legion though, I'm part of the Charlie company." I try to explain. Without saying anything, she pulls me by the laminated ropes around my wrists and pulls me out of the vehicle.
I turn around. It was that weird 2 armed propellered aircraft I saw from before!
"Come on, just get the Major of Charlie Company, and he will explain it to you. I'm his Warrant Officer..." I try to further explain myself.
The girl stopped us and looks at me. "Whatever, welcome to Battle Mountain Forward Operation Air Base, USA" She cited. I looked around, it was an airfield. There were a few of the aircraft that I came out of here, and a few others that looked different, even some jets.
"Wow" is all I had to say, unenthusiastically.
"Stop eyeballing all our assets and let's move along!" she ordered as the man from before walking up behind me.
In a moderately calm tone, he said "Just move your legs."
I did just that and just followed this red-headed girl in through a door on the central terminal. Oddly, I didn't go through any security checkpoint. I was amazed at how clean and lively the place was.
Seeing troops in this weird-looking combat armor walking around here and there caught my eye the most. I kept walking forward following the girl in front of me, making sure not to lose her as i watched rugged clothed wastelanders sitting around talking and trading with people at the terminal counter.
After walking nearly clear across the building, we arrived at a door with a security pad on it. She knocked on it. "It's Daniel, open up." She says speaking to the door. The door pops open and a man in some kind of new power armor I've never seen before steps forward. The power armor looked scary. It had no shoulder plates or pauldrons but an arch hugging the neck and head. It was a jet black color with yellow eyes.
A soft female's voice with a southern-like accent comes forth from the helmet of the power armor, "What is it? And who's the cutie yah have? In binds?". ... We all took a second of silence.
