"You won't tell Barb will you?" Rory whispered as they arrived at her home, Mitch still quite surprised Peter and Aurora were neighbors. It was shocking.

"Mitchel." Peter called for the boy, shaking him up a bit before he asked, "you can keep Rory's home a secret right? Even from your sister."

"Of course." He nodded. "I just.. you live next to the new girl." He chuckled, looking over at Rory with a soft smile. It made her blush a little. The new girl. She had always been the new girl.

"Thank you for giving me a ride Mitch. And for helping me back there." She mumbled out the last part, she knew fully well she would've let herself be blackmailed, threatened till his heart content.

Aurora Wayne was weak, but she wouldn't be for long. "Yeah like we would watch you get threatened by that dirt bag." He sneered.

"You should go in then, for all we know that asshole tipped some paparazzi to tail us."

"See you around little Wayne." He nodded goodbye as the girl stepped out of the car, Peter following right behind her, "thank you man."

"Anytime." The car driver off, Peter keeping an eye as it turned around the corner and disappearing. The boy turned around, catching up to Rory who struggled to get the keys in her doorknob. "Let me give you a hand."

"Thank you." She nodded, letting the boy unlock the front door and letting her walk in first. It helps oddly terrifying to stay alone after the trial. Even if she didn't want to affect her it did. She was on edge. And Peter could tell.

"I can keep you some company if you'd like." He suggested, "only if you want to." He reminded her she had choice. Her heart was beating faster, and the thought of her being alone with a man scared her.

But this wasn't any man. It was Peter Parker. The boy who had protected her that day at school, the boy helped her clean up the mess she made when she found out she was his neighbor. Peter the boy who had helped her catch up in her engineering class. And the boy who had brought her a pack of gum and her favorite flower.

"Sounds like a plan." She nodded, letting him step inside and closing the door as she followed him into the kitchen. "I wanted to um.. t- thank you Peter."

"I technically wasn't the one with the car." He chuckled, but Rory shook her head, stopping him from continuing as she added. "Not for that. No." And as she continued her voice went smaller and smaller, remembering the event like it was hours ago. "For that day. Y- you stood in front of me. You took a bullet for me."

"Aurora.." Peter sighed, feeling the ache she was feeling herself as she went over the horrifying day. "When you got shot.. or not. I just- I remembered what Your aunt told me. About your uncle and your.." did she have the right to speak of her? Of saying she understood? She wasn't sure, but she didn't have a right to speak of his losses in detail. Like she even knew.
