In the Taisho-Period Era of Japan, a young girl named Aimi Kitsuki is left orphaned and now sisterless. She is taken in by an old man called Sakonji Urokodaki, former Water Pillar. He trains her, along with two other children. Aimi vows to kill the...
"Crap," I hissed as I saw Giyū conversing with a boy with dark red hair. "Wait, hold on... is that a demon that boy's protecting?" I rubbed my temples. This boy really wanted to be kicked out of the Demon Slayer Corps.
"But... I will not belittle those who regret their actions and suffer over the things they did as demons. Because demons were once human. Because they were like me," I heard him saying. Giyū was looking down at him with as much contempt he could muster (which, to say, was not much).
I stepped into the moonlight. "Is that a demon?" I asked, pointing to a young girl with long black hair and pale skin. He nodded, and I wiped my face clear of any emotion (Giyū's normally calm face was showing confusion and annoyance so I was holding back my laughter).
As the boy nodded, I said, "I'm Aimi Kizuki. You do know harboring a demon is illegal for the Corps, right?" "But she's my sister! Nezuko has never eaten a human!"
"Mmm. Right," I said skeptically, "Don't worry, you might not die. But your sister definitely will."
I sensed Giyū about to move; he was behind me. Luckily, due to my heightened sense of self-awareness, I tripped him over before he could knock me out. "Tanjiro, run!" he said, and I started giggling.
"You really support a boy who thinks demons are nice?" I joked. Giyū rolled his eyes and got up. "No point in chasing him. I asked Hana to come with me," I said, and I saw surprise register in Giyū's eyes. "Shinobu's tsuguko? Muichiro's girlfriend?" he asked, and I snorted.
"They're not a thing yet," I told him and he raised his eyebrows. "They're always together. Don't you think--" he started, but I interrupted him. "No, Shinobu would kill Muichiro," I said.
* * *
"Can I go yet?" Giyū asked wearily from underneath my hands after 5 minutes. I had been restraining him so he couldn't find and save Tanjiro. "Not yet," I told him, "I didn't get an order to release you yet."
"No one gave you an order to restrain me either," he retorted. He jumped as a black shape soared over our heads. "Bring Tanjiro and Nezuko Kamado back to headquarters," it cawed, "Tanjiro, the boy in the checkered haori and Nezuko, the girl biting a piece of bamboo!"
I lifted my arms and Giyū stretched. "FInally," he muttered. I grinned. He stood up and I followed him. "What do you think the others are gonna think of the two?" I giggled, imagining Sanemi's reaction.
Hana came rushing to us. "Aimi-san! I knocked Tanjiro out!" she said, and I patted her head. "That'll make it easier to transport him," I said, and she beamed. Hana loved compliments. I wondered if Mitsuri's tsuguko was here. I wouldn't be surprised if she was.
"Hana, did you see Hoshika anywhere?" I asked, and Hana nodded. "She was with Karin-chan!" Hana said, "Hoshika-chan travels with Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Inosuke and Karin."
"Did you see her?" I asked. "Noooo? Karin-chan told me, and I believe her fully," Hana said proudly. Well, you believe everyone, I thought.
"What are you going to do when we get back to headquarters, Hana?" I said slyly, knowing what she would say. "Obviously hang out with Muichiro-kun!" she said, and her face lit up when she said his name. A dreamy expression flitted across her face for a second. Then she looked down. "I'll have to wait until the hashira meeting's over," she said sadly.
"The sooner we get to headquarters, the sooner the meeting will be over," I said.
"Am I seriously invisible?" I heard Giyū say to the left of me.
