The next morning Louis woke before Harry. He kissed his omega on the forehead before going into the nursery to check on William. The pup was sound asleep in his crib, clutching his stuffed wolf to his chest. Leaning down and kissing the pup.
Louis left the house trying not to wake his family. He needed to talk to his gran. He was worried the wards around the perimeter of the pack land were deteriorating. There's no other explanation for why there would be bear traps, otherwise.
Knocking on her door after traveling the ten miles to get to her house, he was greeted with the beautiful face of his gran.
"Good morning child," she greeted, bringing him into a hug. "What do I owe the pleasure of seeing you two days in a row?"
"Unfortunately, this time isn't a happy visit," Louis sighed as he followed her into the house. Watching her as she made them tea before moving them into the living room. They came to visit her yesterday as a family. Harry suggested they make a weekly visit to gran to bring her food and to keep her company.
"Now child," Betty said as they settled onto the couch. "Tell me what's nothing you."
"I think the wards are falling," Louis told her, running a hand down his face. "We had a patrol yesterday where they found great traps. One of my alphas got his leg caught. Harry says he had to be off it for a week. There's no other explanation as to why there would be bear traps on our land if the wards were up to par."
"Yes, I believe they might be," the older omega said. "Let me gather the supplies and we'll go. I want to see that baby again anyways."
"He changed for the first time yesterday," Louis informed her. "He got scared when the patrol came into the house and changed. Took him a while to change back but he was able to."
"Oh!" Betty let out a delighted squeal. "That's so exciting, I'm so happy about that."
They headed to the truck once Betty gathered everything she needed for the spell. You see, growing up Louis used to watch his gran. The magical way she used her herbs and crystals always fascinated him. When he learned that she was also a witch he was blown away. He had the coolest grandma out there.
He had a sneaking suspicion that she might have had something to do with how he found his son. There's no way he would have found him with a perfect omega who wouldn't put up a fight to go to an unknown part of the woods. He also had a sneaking suspicion that Harry wasn't just a dormant wolf but a dormant witch as well, with the way he just knew things sometimes, or the first day they met where Harry made him the perfect cup of tea that no one but his mother could make him.
He was curious about the tea she made for Harry as well. What herbs she used and what the reason it was for. Harry drank the tea more often than Louis had ever seen him drink tea, "it's delicious, I can't get enough of it." Harry would say when asked,
Settling into the truck Louis began to drive? "Gran, can I talk to you about Gary really quick?"
"Of course," she nodded. "Is there something wrong?"
"No gran, nothing's wrong," Louis answered. "I have a sneaking suspicion that Harry might not only be a dormant wolf but a dormant witch as well."
Betty nodded her head, slightly moving it to the side as she thought, "What makes you think he's a dormant witch?"
"When I first brought him onto pick land he shivered as we crossed the barrier, told me he could feel the magic in the air," Louis explained, then he went on to explain the tea, Harry knowing exactly when William woke up without him even making a noise, knowing Louis' right behind him when Louis trying to come up behind him and scare him. Everything basically that seeing a little two weird things he did over last month.
