Everything has settled down in the last couple of days. It's been three days in total since the death of Simon. Harry is still a little skittish and won't let William leave his sight, even when he has to use the bathroom and only trusts Louis to watch him when he has to shower. William has been staying in their room with them, not in his bassinet like Louis would have preferred, no, William sleeps in their bed, right in between Harry and Louis.
Louis has taken time from patrolling so he can stay with Harry and William. He still has a nagging feeling that they're not safe and doesn't want to risk anything by being gone.
Currently they were all in the living room, watching a family movie on the television when there was a knock at the door. Harry and Louis looked at each other before Louis stood up to answer. He immediately tensed up when he saw it was Gretchen.
"Good morning, Alpha," she chirped, smiling brightly at him, holding a bouquet of all different types of flowers.
"Good morning," Louis replied, confused as to why the beta brought flowers.
"These are from Eleanor," the beta said, handing him the bouquet. "She called me the other day and told me she put an online order in at the local florist and wanted me to pick them up for you. There's a card, but I didn't read it."
Louis took the flowers and set them on the kitchen island. Harry peeked over the back of the couch to watch.
Louis,
The card read.
I apologize for the way things went down. I hope you can forgive me one day. I'm sending you these flowers as a thank you. I heard about my father's death. Thank you for letting me live my life the way I want and not forcing me back into the pack to raise a child I never wanted. I heard you have an omega now, that you adore and who is a lovely mother to your son.
I hope your life turned out the way you wanted it too, like mine turned out the way I wanted mine too.
Sincerely,
Eleanor
Louis stood there for a moment before handing the card to Harry. Harry smiled slightly and nodded his approval.
"That was kind of her," Harry told his alpha, Louis only nodded.
"Is that all you need?" Louis asked the beta standing in his kitchen.
"Well, no," she started, wringing her hands together. "Mum and I spoke a lot over the past couple of days. We want you to honor the agreement our fathers made."
"Excuse me?" Louis asked, insidiously.
"We want you to take me, my father's first born, as your mate," she explained.
Harry laughed from the couch. It wasn't a humorous laugh, more of a sarcastic one.
"You're delusional," Harry growled.
"That was the original agreement," Gretchen glared at the omega.
"No, absolutely not," Louis growled out. "Both of our fathers are dead. The agreement is null and void. I already have a mate. I am not taking you. Especially from your fucked up family."
"That's not fair!" the beta screamed. "I was supposed to be your original mate. Me! Not my sister. Me! I will be the perfect mate for you, please give me a chance."
"No," Louis insisted. "I have found my perfect mate. A male omega." He put an emphasis on male. "I hate to break it to you Gretchen. I don't like women. I was forced to be with your sister. If I, wasn't I would have found another male omega. I would not have chosen a female. Given a choice now, I choose Harry. I will always choose Harry."
