Peter's POV

"Good news," Mr. Harrington said to the class, everyone covered in glowsticks and what not. "We're going to the opera!"

Many groans sounded from the class though Hannah, Mya, Bucky, Wanda, and Pietro remained silent. Did they want to go to the opera?

"The opera?" Betty whined.

"Don't look at me," Mr. Dell said.

"What happened to the carnival?" MJ asked.

"Oh, this is upgrade living, guys," Mr. Harrington said. "Come on, the tour com- pany just gave us these tickets."

I looked at Hannah. She widened her eyes and started slightly nodding her head.

"For free!" Harrington continued. "Do you have any idea how much opera tickets cost?"

"No," Flash said. "Because none of us have ever wanted to go to the opera. Ever."

Ned turned to me and I did the same thing Hannah just did to me. He turned back to look at the teachers. "Uh, I think this is going to be culturally enriching for us."

"Thank you, Ned," Harrington said, pointing at him with the tickets. "Everyone, this is gonna to be, maybe," he said, now pointing the tickets at everyone around the class, "the best four hours of our whole trip."

"Four hours?" everyone except for Hannah, Mya, Bucky, Wanda, Pietro, Ned, and I whined in unison.

"Guys," Ned said, "I think this is gonna be fun. Seriously."

Mya's POV

I sat on my bed, waiting for Hannah to finish getting ready. The sound of her singing Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick Astley was muffled under the sound of running water but I could still tell what she was saying.

"We've known each other," she sang, "for so loooong. Your hearts been aching, but, you're too shy to say i—Owwwwwww!" she yelled and I was suddenly very confused. "I got freaking shampoo in my eyes! Ow! Ah! It burns!"

I laughed at her.

I had already had a shower, gotten dressed, done my hair, and done my makeup for the opera. And in incredible time. I knew that my friends and I were going to be abandoning the opera so why I was dressed so fancy... because Mr. Harrington told us to dress nicely. And even though I knew I was only going to be dressed like that for a couple of minutes, why the hell would I not use this opportunity to get dressed up fancy.

So here I was, sitting on my bed wearing one of the most beautiful dresses that I owned. It was lavender and made of silk, going very well with my Avengers necklace. It went down until just above my knees. It was tight around my chest but poofed out around my legs. Right before the part it poofed out was a silky ribbon just a shade darker than the rest of the dress, a small, floppy bow hanging at my back. On my feet were a pair of open-toe black high heels that gleamed under the artificial light of the room.

I'd also done my makeup—soft pink lipstick, black eyeliner and light purple eye- shadow—and my hair—a bun tied around with a braid decorated with white flowers—all by myself.

My jewelry consisted of my amethyst Avengers necklace, a pair of dangling crystal earrings, a gold bracelet in the shape of a snake that coiled around my wrist, and a gold ring with an amethyst in the centre of it.

Hannah and I had both gotten Wanda to magic some nail polish on our nails before we came back up here to get ready for the opera because we could. My nails were a soft purple dotted with little specks of gold mostly visible at the top. Hannah's were black with red, white and gold paint splashes on them.
