GRAYSON'S P.O.V
For some reason, the ride was pretty silent, but a comfortable kind of silence. The radio was on anyway so there was absolutely no awkwardness which I was really thankful for. I can understand how stressful it can be to integrate a new school and just the whole process of moving town and, even though I've never experienced going to a new school, school still remains a source of stress for everyone and we both needed to relax. I found a nice path in the forest nearby an old abandoned farm and I thought we should go and have a nice relaxing walk. It had been 20 minutes when I finally saw the little red farm on the right of the rocky road. I parked the car and we both got out. This farm once used to be full of life and animals, but now it's pretty much empty.Kendall joined me in front of the car as we made our way towards the farm.
"Grayson, you realize how I don't really know you and this is kinda creepy..." She trails off pointing her chin towards the red building.
I started to laugh really hard and I think it made her more comfortable. "Yes... This is actually my hiding-dead-body spot." I looked at her very seriously trying to hold in my laugh.
She understood I was joking and we both cracked up."LAST ONE INSIDE IS A POTATO!" She yelled and started running towards the farm.
Obviously, I could run faster so I just ran and picked her up from behind, sweeping her off of her feet and putting her on my shoulder as she screamed and laughed at the same time.
''A potato, huh?''
I kept running until I got to the door which I slowly opened. Some planks were ripped off from the walls which made the sun rays shine through the holes. It was so bright and peaceful. I saw a ladder so I walked to it and checked if it was still usable and wouldn't fall apart if I stood on it. It looked in good conditions. I motioned Kendall to come with me and she did. We both climbed on it and got onto the top platform which covered about half of the farm. There was old and dry yellow-ish grass everywhere so we laid there looking at the clouds through a big hole in the ceiling.
"Look, an elephant!" She exclaimed pointing her finger at a cloud.
I giggled and pointed another cloud. "This one looks like a giant burger and it makes me hungry."We kept doing that and talking about random things for a good 30 minutes. This girl is amazing. Iv'e never been so happy and comfortable around somebody except for Sam and Ethan, but it's not the same thing at all you know? It just feels so right to be around her. I met her only a couple days ago but she just does this to me and a can't explain this feeling. I never felt like this. What the hell is happening to me?
"I wanna show you something. Come with me." I told her and grabbed her hand leading her outside the farm by the back door. We walked a couple minutes still holding hands. I couldn't let go of her hand even though I told myself . She didn't let go either so I guess it was okay. I noticed her slightly blushing which made me smile. We entered the forest and walked hand in the hand on the path. I had seen the path from far away but I never actually explored it.
She looked around at the trees and flowers. Her eyes were shinning like stars and she looked amazed by the view. "Wow. It's absolutely beautiful!"
We kept walking to the sound of the birds and the earthy smell of the forest, all under the mellow light of the sun wich was slowly starting to set.
We found a little river and followed it to finally discover a waterfall. We climbed the rocks to get at the top and we sat there not once letting go of our hands. She put her head on my shoulder and we watched the sunset in silence. I liked the fact that we can be silent and it isn't awkward. It was just peaceful and I wanted this moment to last forever. The view was absolutely breathtaking.
KENDALL'S P.O.V
Before it was completely dark, we walked back to Gray's car. He opened the door for me and quickly climbed in the driver's seat. He started the engine and began driving back home.---
He entered the driveway of my house and stopped the car.
"Wait. How do you know where I live?" I asked."Hunter." He grinned.
I laughed. "Oh yeah, right."
I got out of his jeep and he followed me. It was now almost completely dark so I couldn't see his face clearly but I knew he was smiling. He followed me to the door.
I looked at him. "Thanks for everything. It was just so amazing. We should do that again someday."
His eyes were locked with mine and I could see the light of the street reflect in it. "I really enjoy spending time with you. So, yeah.. We definitely will hangout again." He smiled.
He pulled me into a tight hug. I liked the smell of his shirt. He pulled away and before I even realized, he crashed his lips with mine. Sparks flew everywhere in my body and I swear, there were fireworks in my stomach. I pulled away still surprised and confused of what just happened.
"Uh..I-I'm sorry.. It's just that-"
"Shh, no it's okay. I understand. It's all okay. I don't even know why I did that so suddently.." He gave me a sweet smile and another small hug before leaving the porch and waving at me, just before climbing back into his jeep and driving away.
I unlocked to door with my keys and headed to the kitchen. Hunter was in the living room playing a video game.
I plopped on the couch next to him. He pressed pause. "Can you tell me where the hell you were?"
"Good evening to you too!" I smiled innocently. "I was with Grayson."
He looked at me suspiciously. "What did you guys do?"
I obviously couldn't tell him we went in an old farm far away from the town and that we walked in a mysterious forest holding hand until it was dark outside.
"Um.. We just hung out around in the city..."
He started to play again. "M'kay... Well mom and dad are working late so if you're hungry, I ordered a pizza. It's on the counter."
I went in the kitchen and grabbed a slice and an apple and I went straight in my room to watch The Vampire Diaries while eating. When I was done, I took a shower and got ready to go to bed.
I was under my covers and I was just starring out the window at the stars and at the city lights. I couldn't stop thinking about what happened earlier. The memories of his lips against mine kept rushing through my mind making it impossible to sleep. Anxiety kicked in. I couldn't let this happen. Not again. I was scared.
-flashback-
Someone knocks at the front door. I open the door and Riley stands there pulling me into a hug."I was just passing by and I thought I could stop and sleep over?"
"Riley, I'm going out to the movies with Sarah tonight. I told you earlier."
"Well.. Seems like you're gonna have to cancel." He responds.
"I can't cancel last minute like that! I spend all my time with you and I miss Sarah."
He grabs my wrist really tight and pulls me outside then closes the door. "I. Am. Wayyyy. More. Important. Than your little stupid best friend!" He looks really angry now.
"You should really go home, Riley." He squeezes my wrist tighter. "Stop! You're hurting me!"
And before I even know it, he swings his hand at my cheek and I collapse on the ground.-
I can't let this happen. Not again.
