KENDALL'S P.O.V

We slowly walk through the holiday isles of the store jamming to the quiet christmas music playing in the background.

"These are nice!" Hunter says holding a big box of multicolored lights.

I approach and grab the box, reading the front sticker.

"Yeah. Can we get blue ones too?"

"Sure," he replied as he walked a little further and grabbed a different box.

"Do you guys need garlands?" Ethan yelled from an other isle. "There's a lot of them on sale here!"

We joined him and picked up a few gold and silver garlands from the section.

"I think were good now," Hunter says looking at all the stuff in our cart. "Let's go pay,"

After paying, we make our way back to the car.

"Are you going back to your dad's soon?" I ask, shutting the trunk's door.

We get in the car.

"Yeah, in 2 days. I just came back to get my mom because she's scared of the plane and to get some stuff for Grayson and I since were gonna stay a while there.. Well until, you know.. he wakes up." he says as he closes the door, basically whispering the last words.

There's an awkward silence in the car but then my ringtone decides to interupt it.

"Hello?"

"Hi honey," my mom speaks in the phone.

"Hi, mom. What's up?"

"Lisa came over today and told me the whole situation,"

"Mhm.. We are with Ethan right now; we met him at The Bean," I reply confused.

"Okay, well she asked me to take care of their bird while they are gone..." she drags out.

"Alright.. Is that only why you called?" I ask instrigued.

"Well... Lisa got a phone call this morning from Sean. He said Grayson kind of woke up for a few seconds and.."

My heart starts beating faster at the anxiety invading my body. "Yeah, and?? What's going on, mom?"

Ethan and Hunter look at me confused and anxious.

"He.. He said your name, Kendall. He then fell back asleep."

I can't talk right now.

"H-he.. Um. Oh my God." I manage to mumble.

She sighs as if she's holding back tears. "Lisa wants to know if you'd like to go with them,"

"Uhh, We don't. I-I can't! It's way-"

"It's okay honey. Lisa offered to pay. It's alright. She really insists on you joining them. You really think I don't know about you and Grayson. He's in love with you Kenny,"

"Okay, alright. We are coming home,"

I pause.

"I love you mom,"

"I love you too. Oh, and they're staying for diner too. That's the least we can do,"

I agree and we hang up.

Ethan grabs my arm lightly and startes right at me as I turn my head back to face him.

"Grayson said my name,"

His eyes get watery. "HE WOKE UP?!"

I can't help but get wet eyes too. "Yes."

"but he fell back asleep after a few seconds."
