"The banshee is a female spirit and is considered to be an omen of death. The banshee roams the countryside of can be heard wailing when she predicts death. The word Banshee comes from the Irish bean si (pronounced as shee)bwhidh translates as woman if he fair mounds."

Orianthi listens as Caius speaks of banshees. They come from Ireland. That much Orianthi already knew. Google and Carlisle told her that. The next morning after she got some sleep, Orianthi and Alice were brought to the throne room. Aro has respected Alice's wishes and left her alone while he and the other Kings help Ori learn about her species.

"A banshee is an Irish up mutant," Marcus claims, his voice void of emotions. "A banshee possesses a sonic scream, which..."

"Trust me," Orianthi grimaces, "I know. I've done it when my mom died, a cancer patient died at my birthday, and when my dad died."

"That isn't your sonic scream. Thst is a... powerful cry," Caius explains. "You can use a sonic scream to harm your enemies auto dory system and cause physical vibrations."

"Some picture Banshees as old witches," Aro says, "harbingers of death and doom, they're also known in Ireland as Haf of the Mist, Little Washerwoman, and other different names. A spirit linked to the realm of death and if you spotted her, you best have started to pray for the safety of your family. Because it would be one of them joining her there."

Caius: "The name Banshee was derived from the Old zirish for woman of the fairy mound. Her name was connected to the various mounds of earth dotted around d the Irish countryside known as tumuli."

The Volturi didn't know the first ever banshee in Ireland, but one of their own did. It's how he was turned. Before the banshee could fully take him into the realm of death, a vampire bit and turned him into a vampire. In return, though, the banshee took the newborn's mother.

"The sonic scream as a weapon..." Orianthi looks between the Kings. "How do I do that?"

"We can teach you," Aro says as he clasps his hands together. "That is, if you're willing to stay your entire summer here. You may discuss it with Carlisle first, but..."

"I want to learn," Orianthi cuts in. "Alice, can you call and tell Carlisle?"

"Miss Cullen, you may return home," Aro says. "Your little banshee is safe here and as soon as the summer ends and she's learned how to use her sonic scream as a weapon, I will send her home as well."

"I'll be fine, Alice," Orianthi says. "Jasper will worry but..."

"Okay." Alice sighs. "Okay." She saw this in a vision. She did see Orianthi here alone all summer. "I'll see you when you get home, Orianthi."

"Now, to learn."
