:Chapter 5:

I had only been calmly walking through the woods, whistling my made up tune Aella called my 'Death Song', when I heard it.
"Holy shit!" it was a man that I had let on my property today as he was one of the sherif's deputies and didn't want anyone being too suspicious of my blocked off property.
I stopped and listened, hearing the sound of a tree shaking. So one of the twins is in the trees, I think. The two smelt so alike I could hardly tell them apart, it was even harder at this distance. I continued going until I found the deputy. His face was pale and he had dropped his rifle.
"What happened, Deputy?" I ask, startling him out of whatever trance he was in.
His head snapped in my direction. "There are apparently two kids running around here saying that they're you're half brother and sister. Is that correct?" "Yes," I snap at him. "which one did you see?"
"The girl. She's a little odd isn't she?" this man was already too close to knowing our secret just by seeing Aella.
"Which way did she go?" I ask ignoring his previous question.
"That-" and the faint crack of a rifle interrupted him.
"No." I break out running, a painful fiery pain spreading in my shoulder. "Aella!"
I ran, carefully dodging trees and brush. The only things I could here was my blood pulsing in my ears, the slight shudder of footsteps behind me and the murmuring of Aiolos, Aella and another man. My breathing was quickly getting labored as I continued, the pain in my shoulder was also increasing; it all meant Aella was getting worse.
I reached an opening where I found Aiolos holding onto Aella's shoulder, where she had sustained a trough and through rifle shot. The man, a hunter who I'm guessing was the shooter, was pacing and murmuring to himself. I moved over to Aella and checked her pulse and breathing, bother were weak. "Okay," I whisper, collecting myself to go into soldier mode. "Aiolos, take off your jacket and tie it once around her shoulder then her chest, tightly, to slow the blood. Then I need you to pick her up as carefully as possible, I'll get her legs."
Aiolos followed my instructions, cautiously executing the procedure. When he was done I counted to three and we lifted her, causing her to groan in pain. I saw the deputy out of the corner of my eye, on his phone, probably calling for an ambulance. She will go to the hospital, I think, she'll be safe there. From all the monsters in our lives.
We walked to the truck, carefully and slowly, hopefully the Hunter factor in her blood had kicked in by now; healing her supernaturally is possibly the only thing that can help her. When we reached the road where my truck was parked the sun was rising over the variety of trees.
"They have a bed ready for her in the ER at Inland," the deputy was still following along.
"Okay. Thank you for your service," I helped Aiolos lift Aella into the he bed of the truck and lay her down gently.
"What are you doing?!" Deputy screeched.
I turned to him. "I said thank you. That means leave. My family business is none of yours!"
He stumbled back as if I had pushed him then turned and left to go back into the woods. Before he was even ten feet away he turned back to me and said. "You're an odd character, Ales. I'll be watching you."
I grunted and jumped down from the truck bed onto the ground and walked to the driver's door. Pulling myself into the truck I wanted to scream. In pain, anger, defeat. My life was falling apart. Still.

When we pulled up to Inland Hospital I ran in and got a gurney, earning some yelling from an ER nurse. We placed Aella onto it carefully and ran her into the ER.
"My sister has sustained a GSW to the shoulder, it's a through and through!" I yelled at a group of emergency room doctors who instantly jumped into action.
They started saying things that I didn't really understand; the most doctoring I knew about was from Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, and Supernatural. None were very helpful. Sam and Dean Winchester rarely went to the hospital, instead they used sewing needles and thread or duct tape and bar rags. Grey's and Private both were more about relationships and sex than anything.
Aella and Aiolos were my only chance at having a real family again. I can't lose one of them this soon.
