Twenty eight

Dean P.O.V.

We've been back home for a week, I tried to move to a guest room but Athena didn't let me, so we keep sleeping in the same bed.

Cuddling.

Let me tell you that is so fucking hard for me because I want her, I know how her skin feels close to mine, how her leps fit perfectly with mine. I had a taste of her and I want more.

Even though Athena doesn't remember giving the order, I'm still the third in command, so I take care of a few of the businesses like the diner I worked at and Ricardo's that I will be changing the name soon.

I've been doing all the work from home while recovering, but today is the day that all go to both places, Athena is not very happy with that, but since I carry a gun, she reluctantly agreed.

But to be honest, I'm nervous, technically it's the first time I go out alone, where I can find my father. I never thought of what would happen when I see again. Or what happened to him after I left. All this time I always stayed at home, or because I was in the hospital bed or when Athena went to kill Blaise. Then we went to Italy and well, you know what happened.

"Alright I said you could go, and you can but you have to take at least one with you."

"Athena I don't need it, it's just a few minutes from here."

"Please, I can't go with you, and Fred is at the docks, so at least take one of the guys here." She pleaded.

"Alright I'll take Aiden with me, but he stays in the car."

"Deal." She said, she came closer to me and kissed my cheek, before she could turn away I kissed her forehead. It's taking all of me not to kiss her, in her lips, but I don't want to rush her into things, she still doesn't remember anything.

"Aiden." She shouted.

"Yes, boss?" He asked.

"Go with Dean."

"Yes, boss."

"Call me if something happens. Don't forget you are their boss now." She said to me.

"Yes. Now bye." I said and gently pusher her to her office.

"Let's go." I said to Aiden. We went to the garage and i chose the Camaro, we got inside and i drove us to the first destination. Ricardo restaurant, there were some people working in the kitchen, updating everything.

I didn't need to stay here for long, it was just to check the decorations and see if everything is going as planned, which it is, so now I need to go to Ollie's, that is where I worked. There I need to collect all the money from the past two months.

Some of the money was to the bank, but the other part goes to the house, this is bets money, yes bets. Each day I spent working with them I learn about all the businesses they are into. And bets is one of them and this diner is one of the main spots. Bets of the games, underground ring fights, and street races. All of that was happening while I worked here and I was oblivious to it all.

I drove to my next destination and it was almost empty, as usual at this hour, i went inside and talked to Ollie. I spent half an hour there, he was always a good man to me. When I was getting out of the diner, I was putting the money away and I ran into someone.

"I'm sorry I didn't see you." I said and only when I stopped talking, did I look at the person.

My father.

"Look who finally decided to show his ugly face."

"Father." I said.

"Where have you been?" He asked, rage was clear in his face.

"It doesn't matter." I said and walked out of the door, but he stopped me by grabbing the back of my neck.

I know how to fight, how to shoot and all but I don't know if I have it in me to hurt my father. Or maybe I do if things escalate.

"Let go of me." I said. I saw Aiden in the car talking on the phone and looking at me, probably already talking to Athena.

"And why would I do that? So I heard that you live with powerful people now." He said.

"And then?" I asked finally, getting out of his grasp.

"Dean?" Aiden called from behind my father.

"This is one of them?" My father asked. I didn't answer.

"I'll take that as a yes." He said. Then he did something I never expected, he took a gun from his jacket, aimed at Aiden, and fired, all in seconds. I ran to Aiden that was now on the floor, groaning in pain, but he would live it was just his shoulder.

I'm done, I'm done being a coward, for a long time he was the only family I had but not anymore, I have a bigger one, that cares for me, I won't let them get hurt, not by him. I took my gun out and aimed at him.

"Go, get out of my sight, get out of town if I see you again I will shoot you."

"Oh look who found his balls now!" He said sarcastically.

"You're wrong, I could always fight but I chose not to. Because you are my father, but not anymore, I won't take your shit anymore."

"What you're going to do boy?" He asked.

"I'll kill you if I have to." I said but he started laughing. I fired the gun and the bullet hit his leg. He stopped laughing and looked at me. At that moment I heard cars, it was Athena with a few men.

"I'm not joking. I'm done, you're lucky I didn't kill you, just move on, let me be. If I ever see you again you're dead." I said, he looked at me and to the guys and Athena, he gave a small nod and walked away, leaving a trail of blood from his wounded leg.

"Are you okay?" I asked Aiden.

"I'll be fine man." He said. The other came and took him to the car.

"Was that your fath-" she started to say, but then she put her hands on her head and started groaning in pain. Her knees gave out but before she could hit the floor I wrapped my arms around her.

"Athena, what's wrong?" I asked but then her body went limp on my harms, I picked her bridal style and ran to the car.
