2 am...
Brad wakes up to Carrie's hair on his face. Her scent, her body, her warmness felt so good and he didn't want to leave but he knew he had to. He stood up without waking her up and picked her up as if they got married, he took her to the bedroom and tucked her in. He checked on the baby, gave Carrie a kiss on the forehead, and then left the house. He drove back home even though he didn't feel ok leaving Carrie and Isaiah by themselves.
He opened the door to find the kids watching tv in the living room. "What ate you guys doing up!!! Its 2 am!!! Where's mom!!"
Huck: I don't know. She left a long time ago with her friends.
Brad: go to bed boys! I'll be up in a minute to tuck you guys in
Brad pulled out his phone and called Kim. It went straight to voicemail. He tried a couple more times and voicemail again.
He went upstairs, covered Huck and Jasper with their blanket, and then went to bed. He couldn't sleep, all he thought about was Carrie. "Did Mike hurt her? Is she alright? Should I call her? Why did I leave?" Then he thought about Kim and the kids. "How could anybody leave a 8 yr old and a 3 yr old by themselves? What in the world is wrong with her? Why can't she be like Carrie? Kim isn't the same person I married 12 yrs ago! I swear when she gets home I'm gonna let her know!!😡" he soon fell asleep.
Carrie's pov...
She woke up all alone, she thought Brad was gonna be right next to her hugging her. "No Brad😢 no Mike!" She got up and checked on Isaiah, he was still sleeping so she went to the bathroom and took a quick shower. After about 10 minutes she wrapped a towel around her and grabbed Isaiah so she can lay him on the bed in order to change his diaper. He finally woke up so she began to play with him.
She later grabbed some of new clothes
from Calia and slid them on. She grabbed a bottle of breast milk from the fridge that she had pumped out yesterday and then fed Isaiah. She had found a note on the fridge from Mike.
"Carrie- I'm sorry about yesterday. I promise I'll change. I got home around 4am but I left at 8am because of my mandatory practice and meetings. I can't make it to the appointment today I'm really sorry"... It read.
That was typical Mike, always saying sorry and promising he'll change but he never does. She sat in the bed with Isaiah and then grabbed her phone. She wanted to call Brad to hear his voice. But instead she texted him, "Hey! I wanted to thank you for what you did yesterday! You don't even know how much it means to me☺️. Talk to you later Brad! Love you!😉"
"Oh Brad I almost forgot, can I ask you one more favor plzz lol"
Brad's pov
"God I really want to hear Carrie's voice right now!"
He stood up from his couch and headed towards the kitchen to grab something to drink while Huck played a game on Brad's iPhone. "Dad aunt Carrie sent you a text, do you want me to read it?"
Brad: no no I'll open it. He ran back with a glass of juice and sat on the couch. Huck gave him his phone. Brad smiled when he read the text. He replied, "No problem Care! You know I'm for you! And of course I'll do any favor you want😂"
Carrie: 😊 I have an appointment today with the pedestrian you had recommended me Dr Johnson. Mike said he couldn't go and I really need someone to come with me. Can you come?😁"
Brad: can the kids come??
Carrie: yea of course, plus I haven't seen them a long time!
Brad: then I accept!! I'll pick you up since you can't drive
Carrie: no Brad it's ok I'll drive
Brad: Care you know you can't drive, its not safe and I'm not gonna let you anyways!
Carrie: ok ok you win! Its at 1 so be here an hour early
Brad: ok don't worry
He got up and told the kids to go shower. Brad as well went to shower.
