CHELSEA'S P.O.V
The game was about to begin, and all throughout the warm-ups, we were getting a bunch of waves our way. There were waves from the Flames and Oilers. Every time someone waved to us, Kris would instantly wave back because he loves to wave. His smile kept getting bigger and bigger as the night went on.GAME START-
I was extremely nervous watching the boys play. I could only imagine how they all felt. I wanted to stay professional, so I was hoping that my competitive side wouldn't start to show. I was holding Kris on my lap when Ryan had a nice breakaway. He got tripped, so he got a penalty shot. Everyone was standing for this shot, including me. We were all anxiously waiting until, we saw the puck go in! We were all clapping away, even Kris. Ailsa and I were ecstatic. It was an amazing shot. There were ten minutes remaining in the first period. After Ryan's goal, the game went a little stale. No big hits were taken, and there were only a few scoring opportunities. So, while watching the game, Ailsa and I were talking and getting to know one another. We are quite alike. We have some of the same interests. I can tell we will be very close.Still, nothing has happened. There is 2 minutes left in the first period. Calgary has been taking more hits, which makes me nervous because we really haven't been producing any back. I don't want this game to be sloppy and chippy, but we have to have some aggression. Then, all of the sudden, there was a bad turn over in the neutral zone. Calgary has the puck now and is headed down to face Scrivens. It's one on one, with Hudler carrying the puck. The clock is winding down, there is a minute and ten seconds left. Hudler shoots, and a glove save by Scrivens. It is quite hard choosing between my boyfriends team and my brothers. I really decided that I will cheer for them both to play well and to be safe. There is really no losers in this game because I love guys on both of the teams. The face off is taken in our end, and with one shot taken, it is blocked by a leg in front. The Oilers then gain possession and make a line change. There is about thirty seconds left in this period. One more play can occur. The Oilers take the puck into the Flames zone and start passing it around. Pass after pass, no shot is ever taken. The clock runs out and the score is 1-0 with the Oilers on top after the first period. I really can't complain because both teams are doing phenomenal. Now we will have to see what period 2 has in store for us.
