I pulled into Kuro's driveway after traveling across town at a speed that would kill me if I weren't so aware of what was going on around me. I yanked my keys out of the ignition, got out, slammed the door behind me, shaking the whole car, and bolted through his front door. I stomped up the stairs and hugged him, basically tackling him onto his bed. "What," I gasped out, not able to breath. "Happened?!"
He hugged me back tightly, his arms wrapped around my waist. "She was using me from the beginning, like you said..." he muttered. He wiped his face and I looked at it for the first time.
His eyes were red and puffy from crying. He had a black eye and his lip was cut. His cheeks were tear stained and his hair was messier than usual. He ran a hand through his hair and I noticed he had bruises on his arms.
"Did you get into a fight," I questioned, my voice rising in panic. He nodded in response. "Damnit, Kuro...." I sighed under my breath, shaking my head.
"I'm sorry, Kenken. I just..."
I covered his mouth before he could explain himself. He stared up at me, his eyes still watery. "No need to defend yourself, Kuro." I smiled at him. I took my hand from his mouth and grabbed his wrist, pulling him up. He stood up, slipping his hand down into mine. I smiled and squeezed his hand. I hate that he was able to bring this side of me out but... I love it at the same time.
"Thanks, Kitten," he whispered. I nodded, pulling him towards the bathroom.
When I turned the light on and looked at him, I could see where his tears mixed with blood coming from his lip. I took his hands and his knuckles were split and bleeding still and he had a deep gash on his forearm. I opened a cabinet and grabbed the rubbing alcohol and bandages. I also grabbed the toilet paper and a rag. "Did you atleast beat the guy or get a few good punches in?"
He nodded, smiling then grimacing when his lips tore the split in his lip again. His lip started bleeding but he started to talk anyway. "I hit his a few times but after he stabbed me, I fled away from him," he announced, quite proud of himself. Then he sighed. "A crowd had formed and one of the people living near heard the commotion and called the cops. That's another reason I left..." he muttered.
I chuckled. "Well, I'm proud of you for making that decision without me having to come and drag you away," I teased, smirking and nudging his good arm. I doused the rag in rubbing alcohol and cleaned his wound on his arm.
He winced then rolled his eyes at me. "Whatever, Kozu." He smiled at me. All of a sudden, he muttered, "Thank you..."
I looked at him, my eyes widening in surprise. "For what?" I wrapped his arm in a bandage.
"For always being there for me," he said. "I mean, you don't need to be there but you are. You always are." He was staring at me like he admired me.
I rolled my eyes and focused back on cleaning him up. "Well, you called me, bawling your eyes out," I muttered, trying to keep my face normal. "Of course I have to come." I could feel my face slowly getting hot.
He shook his head. "You could've just told me to stop being a pussy and go to bed." He laughed because it was something I would do.
I chuckled. "That's true and something I would do. But...." I stopped. I cleared my throat and shook my head, grabbing his chin and tilting his head so that I could clean the cut on his lip.
His face turned red, and he pulled away slightly. "What the hell-?"
"Stop," I said sternly. I gripped his chin tighter, cleaning his lip. Once I was satisfied with his lip, I started to to take care of his black eye.
