Project 590

II

As I began to drift off to sleep I seemed to appear in that void again, and the exact same voice began again, "Well done, you have reached the settlement of the three faster than I expected you would."

"Settlement of the three? Who are you? What is this?" I called out

"Of course, three of the subjects are settled within there, and as for my name, I can not disclose that to you just yet, your job has not been accomplished, though as for now you can refer to me as 'Void'. And I am sure you have many question you want to ask but I only have limited ability to speak to you before I can be tracked down, for now, play along with them. Find subject one, you will know him when you see him, he is special just like you seven, you two as a team will be just the amount of power I have been needing to go through with this project."

"Seven, why do you call me that, what is this about subjects and projects, what project?" I yelled back.

"Project 590" The voice responded just before I woke up in the same bed I had laid in last night, though it was bright morning now.

I got up feeling like I got no sleep at all but didn't want to just show up and then lay around all day, I want to know what is going on, I need answers.

I walked outside the door and was immediately stopped by vines wrapping around my legs and arms.

"What is wrong with you?" I heard Sienna say as she and two other people walked up to me.

One of them was a guy with a crystalline water droplet under his left eye and the other, a girl who had a crystalline heart on her right cheek.

"What are you talking about? Are you insane I haven't done anything?" I snapped back.

"Then explain the shadowed figure caught leaving your housing and sneaking around late last night, what told you stealing from us just after arriving was a good idea? What are you, how did you create that shadow humanoid" The guy with the water drop said.

"I spent the whole night laying in there what are you talking about a shadowed figure?" I asked.

"Here, look at this." Sienna said as she held up some strange device that projected an odd video feed above it showing something odd, I saw myself walk into the house and then after Sienna walked away a cloaked looking shadow seemed to leave through the wall and began to walk around.

After a long pause of nothing which she sped it up through I saw the shadow reenter the house I was in.
"And then after that noone has left before you did now, real suspicious." The unknown guy said.

"Oh yeah well just go look in there then, if they never left then they must still be there because it wasn't me!" I yelled at him.

"Sam, come with me, Brandon stay here." Sienna said as both the girls walked in to investigate.

"So you're Brandon huh?" I questioned.

Immediately as he was about to start responding I heard a scream from inside and the vines suddenly dropped. Me and Brandon were about to run inside as a cloaked figure ran past us shoving me to the side, as they ran towards the wall they seemed to pass right through it, going outside.

We ran into the house and saw both the girls unconscious on the floor, both of which had some strange shadow ring on one of their fingers which definitely wasn't there before.

Suddenly water tentacles came out of nowhere and wrapped around my wrists and ankles before freezing.

"You show up and suddenly this starts happening, what are you, tell me everything you know, NOW!" Brandon yelled at me as he went to check on the two.

"Void, when I first arrived here I was in a void, someone talked to me, called me subject 7, something about taking down Psytec and how I am the key, he spoke to me again last night, he said to work with you all and find subject one whoever that is. I swear I had nothing to do with this, maybe someone is after me or something new I don't know." I said worried.

"Void, I have heard of that before, the exile, that must be that subject one you speak of, we kicked him out long ago when he was constantly rambling about how we are all being controlled by some Psytec. Maybe it was all true, fine then, I'm gonna gather who all is here, we ride tonight to locate the exile, be ready." He said as the ice all turned back into water and I dropped to the floor.

"Let's figure out what is happening and stop it before it propagates. I'll help where I can, I understand if you don't trust me though." I said to him as he walked out. He simply shrugged and walked away.
