III

As we were preparing to head out Sam and Sienna were taken care of and they seemed to get better but that strange ring was still stuck on their fingers, they couldn't seem to remove it so we just prepared to head out with them still on.

I didnt have much to gather, but when everyone was ready we all walked over to a stable and everyone got on a horse. Brandon took some time to teach me how to ride the horse before we all rode out through the gate and Sienna took the lead because she has been out here more than any others.

As we were riding I began to feel as though something was off as we began to enter the forest. Suddenly trees began to collapse causing us to all scatter and split up, as soon as this happened my heart dropped because at the rate everything was falling it could not be natural, it's probably whoever that shadow person was.

I had to take a sharp left turn to dodge a collapsing tree. While riding through the forest I began to smell smoke and heard a scream come from somewhere beyond a wall of fallen trees.

"Brandon status update?" I heard Sienna shout out.

"I'm don't know who this hothead is, nor why he's got a kill on for us but he's got me pinned, newbie watch out, someone's coming after you!" Brandon shouted back in response.

Immediately after he yelled that a shadow saw blade came flying out of nowhere and toppled a tree right in front of my horse causing me to run right into it and get thrown off the horse.

As I landed on the ground I saw the same shadowed figure from before approach me from within the trees, this time I got a better look at them, it was a lady with a black cloak on, her eyes were pitch black and the hood was down this time due to that I could see she had at least shoulder length black hair, if it is any longer I can't see it thanks to the cloak, she glared down at me in silence.

"Who are you, what do you want from me?" I asked.

"Who I am should not concern you, all you need to know is I am not your friend but I am also not your enemy, you are coming with me, I cannot allow you to reach him." She said as shadows seemed to eminate from her eyes and everything began spinning, I felt like I was about to pass out until suddenly a bright light appeared and suddenly I felt fine, the lady began to stumble back as I stood up and lifted my fists ready for a fight as I did so I noticed a glowing shield made of light on my right arm. Suddenly I noticed all flames were gone and the trees were back to the way they were. I saw Sienna, and Brandon coming up and helping to surround the shadow lady.

"I'm not gonna ask you again, what is your name, and what are you trying to do?" I demanded as I held up my shield. I have no idea how I did what I did, nor if I was even the one who did it or even what it was, but it's probably best to make the most of it while I can.

"I already told you, my name is none of your concern, but I knew there was something special about you, but don't think I'm afraid of some shield, and don't say I didn't try, when he sees you it will be to late for you. That man is insane." She responded.

Suddenly a massive dark cloud appeared around her, surrounding us all. I dropped to the ground coughing uncontrollably and I could hear everyone else coughing too, once the cloud finally faded I saw we were all on the ground, except for one person, Brandon was missing and so was Sarah.

"No, she got away again." Sienna said, sounding very disappointed.

"Where is Sam?" I questioned.

"She vanished in the chaos, I don't know where she went." Sienna answered.

"Sam! Where are you?" I shouted out, to no response. "She may have been grabbed by whoever it was Brandon said had him pinned."

"We should keep moving, maybe we will run into her along the way, does anyone still have their horse?" Sienna asked.

All three horses had been lost in the chaos however, so we decided to just proceed on foot. As we walked Sienna stuck to the tree tops using her vines to swing from tree to tree above us keeping watch over me after that encounter we needed to be sure that we weren't going to get ambushed. As we reached a clearing in the woods, I saw some strange structure that looked like some sort of fancy home, Sienna landed on the ground and walked up to the door as I followed close behind, she knocked on the door and a giant wind blast came out and knocked us both down as well as throwing the door wide open. I felt immense pain and could barely move, in the position I was in I could not see anything other than a blue light appearing across the ground, as the light appeared I could hear footsteps on the grass approaching us. Just then before I could even react I heard in a deep, slightly static filled voice, "I've been expecting you."
