Chapter 2: Birthday disaster?

Nikki's P.O.V

Look at all of the food. It's all for me. Oh god I don't know which one to eat first.

California Maki, Pasta, Tempura, cake, salmon, salad, sushi, chocolate fountain, smores, fruits cotton candy machines, popcorn makers and many more.

I feel like I'm in heaven.

After a few minutes, I finally decided on eating the California maki first. Oh god it tastes so good.

But wait... what's that smell? Is that... smoke? SOMETHING'S BURNING!

I started panicking and everyone was screaming. I couldn't breathe. Everything was a blur. All I see is fire and smoke. I don't know where to go. I was about to run to the door, until I heard little kids screaming. It was from the rooms. I have to save them. I ran to the closet and looked for a cloth and wet it with water. I immediately ran upstairs to look for the kids screaming.

"Nikki! Anne! Somebody! Anybody? Help us!"

Oh no... That sounds like... Anica. My little sister.

"Anica where are you?!" I screamed while coughing. I had to look for her. I can't lose her. She can't die.

"I'm in Anne's room! Quick!! Kiel is here!!"

Fuck... I ran to Anne's room trying not to get burned by the fire. I tried to open the door, but the handle burned my hand.

"Anica step away from the door!" I began kicking the door, but it was no use. I was too weak and tired. I can't breathe, but I can't let them down.

I suddenly remembered what my real dad told me. He was a fireman. He said that if I was going to kick a door, I kick beside the door knob.

I took a deep breath and kicked the door with all my strength. It broke it half. As soon as the door broke, I saw Anica beside Kiel.

"Nikki!" Anica said, running to me. I gave her the wet cloth "put this on your nose to prevent you from breathing in the smoke"

Then I noticed something

"Why isn't Kiel moving? Oh my god what happened to his face?!"

"His face got burnt by the fire. So i got water and threw it on his face. After a few seconds, he passed out...”

"We have to get out of here. Come here."

I got Kiel’s arm and dragged him with me.

"Quick Anica, stay beside me. Faster. The house is gonna fall down any second"

Then the ceiling suddenly fell

My heart stopped

It fell on Kiel

"Kiel?! Oh my god!! Help!! Someone help!!!"

I suddenly heard someone banging on the door.

"Ms, come on let’s get you out of here"

I snapped.

“NO! Get the ceiling off of him!! I can’t let him burn!!"

"Okay miss we're on it, but you have to get out of here first."

I suddenly see more firemen going in with a hose and they began spraying Kiel.

"Miss we have to go"

And that was the last thing i heard before everything went blank
