When I walked quickly to the metro station I saw the metro leaving in front of my eyes.
"Damn it!" I mutteredThe departure screen said that the next metro would come in five minutes. Annoyed I sat down on a bench. I was so mad at myself for sleeping in and not hearing my alarm.
Finally the five minutes were over and the next metro had arrived. The journey to the studio was also twenty minutes. Which means I would be an hour too late at the studio. Somehow I was glad Nico didn't have my number by now. He would have called me the whole time I guess.
With my headphones I sat down in the metro. The next song that was playing was the acoustic version of "Better" which was one of my faves songs after moving to Berlin. Yes I know Nico sings in the song. But I love how Lena's and Nico's voice match perfect together.
Twenty minutes later I got out of the metro. With a fast walk I got out of the metro station and found the building where the studios were located in front of me. That was the first thing that went well this morning. Inside the building I asked the receptionist where Nico Santos had hired a studio. I thanked the receptionist and hurried to the elevator.
Arriving in the studio I saw that Nico was alone writing in a notebook. He didn't notice that I entered the studio.
"Hey." I said a bit nervous not knowing how he would react. He looked up and smiled. Got up from his chair and gave me a quick hug.
"Han! You made it!"
"Sorry for being late. I slept in on my alarm and it was nine when I woke up and than my metro left in front of my eyes."
"You sure you aren't Spanish?"
"What's that supposed to mean with being late?"
"You know that being late is something typical Spanish?"
"Nico! Get to the clue of the story!"
"I grew up at Mallorca and was always late for everything. Still have that a bit in me. But Germans love Pünktlichkeit."
"Oh well this is just my second day being late at an appointment. But thanks for not minding me being late."
"No problem!"Nico sat down again on the sofa where he was sitting on before.
"Why don't you sit down?" He asked and patted on the empty place next to him.
"Sure why not?"I walked to the sofa and sat down next to him. He had his phone in his hands and said:
"I need your number."
"Why?"
"You're my personal assistant and perhaps as friends it's nice to talk from time to time?"
"Yeah sure sorry for asking."I gave Nico my number and he did the same with his number.
"So now I can call you out of bed!" He laughed.
"Oh shut up you mister. Texting me around midnight."
"Hey, I'm a musician. I live for being awake until late in the night. You should be like that too!"
"Well maybe I am. But since I have been here I have nothing been then tired."
"Hmm is that maybe you've to get used to Berlin living in Berlin?"
"Maybe I don't know."
"I had the same when I moved here seven years ago from Mallorca."
"What did you about it?"
"Well, I tried to have a normal daily life. Eating healthy and that kind of stuff."
"Ew healthy food. I looove eating out and good food!"
"Me too!"We both laughed and sat there in silence for a short moment. Until Nico decided to get up and said:
"We go out for breakfast and some coffee. My fave breakfast spot is nearby!" Nico smiled. He got up from the sofa and pulled me with him. At the same moment when he pulled me up I bumped against his chest. Nico caught me with his hands on my waist.
"Got you." He smiled
"Th..thanks." I mumbled
