After Moritz excused us from his office. Nico and I were walking silently to the elevator not knowing where to go. Finally inside the elevator something snapped inside me.
"Was this your freaking idea?!" I yelled at him.Nico was surprised about how I reacted to the change of my job description when I suddenly started to yell at him in the elevator. Before he could reply we were on ground floor already.
When we got out of the elevator, I felt how Nico's hand grabbed softly my upper arm and pushed me in a corner where nobody could see us. I wanted to take another step back but I couldn't move further because my back was against the wall. Both of his hands were leaning above my hand against the wall as well. His face was quite close to mine. I could feel his breathing on my skin. Again he smelled so good.
"Hannah, for god's sake can you fucking calm down once?" He looked me straight in the eye.
"Then why did you do this?" I was a bit flabbergasted by his tone.
"Because Moritz is a man who loves woman and to do stuff with them that isn't allowed as a manager. But I'll talk with you further if you come with me to my home to talk in private."When I saw his serious look resting on my face I knew he wasn't joking at all. I nodded when he wanted to talk private about Moritz with me. Nico let go of his hands against the wall. He walked away and I followed quickly behind him. Outside Nico ordered a taxi to go to his place. After a few minutes the taxi appeared. Nico held the door for me open so I could get in and he could sit down next to me.
After a short drive we arrived at Nico's appartement. The whole taxidrive was in silence and so was our way to his appartement as well. When inside Nico asked me if I wanted coffee. I nodded and he left to kitchen to make coffee. Alone in his living room I looked around. It was quite empty except for some furniture and his beautiful white piano. My eyes were taken to the piano, I sat down on the stool. I imagined how Nico was playing the piano. Of course I had seen videos of him playing on the very same piano.
Nico entered with two steaming coffee mugs in his hands. He walked straight to me and gave me one mug.
"Here you go!" He smiled slightly.
"Thanks Nico. I was in desperate need of that. Sorry for yelling at you like that."
"Oh Hannah, you have to work on that temper from now on since you're my personal assistant." Nico grinned.I rolled my eyes when he said that, let out a sigh and tried to count to ten. It annoyed me when he said that. But he was right about my temper, in the end he was my boss after all. Like I said before only this guy could make me go lose my temper. I have never even had that before with other people I met.
"I know and it annoys me that you're right." I took a small sip of my coffee. He smiled again and sat down on the couch. I did the same and sat down next to him. Nico looked at me a small smile appeared around his lips. That same smile disappeared quickly as well. He started to talk:
"You know I wanted to talk to you about Moritz, right?"
"Yes, so tell me what happened."
"Moritz had a management assistant before you came. She quit just a few weeks before you got the job. I heard from my manager Vincent that he had threatened and harassed her. The higher management knew that as well, but decided to fire her and give her a huge amount of money if she didn't go to the police. This is all because Moritz is a huge name in the music business."I wanted to say something but Nico raised up his hand to stop me from talking. He continued after he had taken a sip of his coffee.
"When I met you in the plane and you told me you had a job as a management assistant, I had to do something. Remember when I said I was looking for a personal assistant? Well, that's not true but I wanted to make sure you were safe. I made a proposal to Moritz and the higher management that I needed a personal assistant. They all agreed that it would be you and that you would start a month earlier. I'm sorry for being forward but you needed to know this! Can you please trust me?"
I didn't know what to say to Nico but said this:
"Nico, have you got any prove? Because it's kinda a huge accusation you make to Moritz. Plus I barely know you."
"No, I don't but I want you to believe me."
"I can't Nico, I just can't."My coffee was finished and I put the mug on the table. Stood up I was ready to go back home. Nico looked at me, he was upset. It was something I could see in his eyes. But what did I have to do? Just believe some random stranger? I couldn't do that, it was something I had learnt when I was younger.
