Together we wrote the last bit of the song. After a few hours it was finished. We both looked at the lyrics again. The last things we added were:

[Pre-chorus]
It took me forever but it turned into a never
Like a promise doesn't matter
When you're changing like the weather
Do you really think you'll ever
Find someone to love you better?

[Chorus]
Oh, was it easy to let me down?
Was it easy when you walked out?
Tell me, was it somebody, somebody new
That you made me wanna leave?
Was it easy to let me down?
Why the hell did you shut me out?
Tell me, was it somebody, somebody new?
Don't tell me it was easy, so easy to.

[Post-chorus]
Let me down, let me down, let me down
Let me down, let me down, easy
Let me down, let me down, let me down
Don't tell me it was easy

[Bridge]
You left an echo on the day you walked out on me
In your stilettos, why'd you ever say you want me?
So hard to let go, but you make it look so fucking easy

We both looked satisfied at each other and back at the finished lyrics. It turned out we were quite a good team when it comes to write a song. It was cool not to be just his personal assistant but also to do such personal things. It's a thing that you get to know each other way better.

Looking at my phone for that time I noticed that it already was 1:30 in the morning.
"Woah it's late" I said
"Night owl."
"For the first time that I feel better. Like having more energy. I think I needed this."
"I knew that you needed this. But like I said before you still have to get used to living here. It's a whole different environment compared to The Netherlands."
"You're right about that. I never thought of that before. But I love being in Berlin and the vibe of the city!"
"Same and I'm so thankful for being here."

I saw Nico thinking over something.
"What's on your mind?"
"I was thinking and if you want as well. Maybe we could celebrate that we finished the song?"
"Is there still a pub open around this time?"
"Hannah, you are in Berlin, most pubs are open until late every day of the week. You're a small town girl in a big arcade now."
"Hey, that's Duncan Laurence his song. But yes I would love to have a beer or something stronger."
"Well, let's go then!"

Nico got up from the chair that was placed in front of a desk. He offered me his hand, I took it and he pulled me up from the chair.

Together we left the studio and walked straight to the metro station. Arriving at the platform we took the metro to Alexanderplatz. Nico insisted on a pub close to my apartment. So he could walk me home when I would be drunk or just walk me home anyway.

But after all Nico decided it was nice to find a pub close to river The Spree. After walking fifteen minutes we found a nice pub close to the Berliner Dom and we could sit across the river. Outside it was still kinda nice warm. We were in the last week of August. Mostly the temperature that month is still good.

We sat down beside a table and talked for a bit. After a short while Nico stood up to get something to drink.
"What would you like to have?"
"Gin tonic or maybe first a beer."
"Let's start with a beer!" Nico laughed.

Nico came back with two big beers in his hands. He put the both glasses on the table and he sat back down. He picked up his glass and I did the same with mine.
"Cheers to our song!" Nico smiled
"Easy!" I laughed.

We clinked our huge beer glasses and took a good sip of our beer. The beer tasted so good after a day in the studio.

"Best beer ever!" I smiled
"Yes definitely!"
"Thanks for today!"
"No problem I had fun as well. By the way shall we record the song together?"
"What? You want me on the track?"
"I can't waste your talent on only writing songs and being my personal assistant!"
"You sure?"
"Already made an announcement on Instagram. No turning back anymore."

He smiled at me and showed me the post he made on Instagram. It was a photo he took from me sitting in front of the piano. The caption he wrote under the photo was:

Nicosantosofficial: A special collaboration coming with this amazing upcoming talent! 🔥

I smiled at the post he made. The photo had turned out kinda cool. Reading the comments everyone sounded really excited.
