The One That Got Away

CHAPTER 19

"Hey Haz.It's Christmas.Wake up."

Harry opened his eyes and saw Louis sitting next to him,with a huge smile.

"Merry Christmas love.Look.It's snowing outside!"

"Merry Christmas.",Harry responded."Did you come back?I thought that you wouldn't."

"I will always come back to you Harry."

Harry quickly opened his eyes and realised that no one is in his room.He was alone.He immediately started crying so much that Anne heard him from down stairs and came to check him.

"Harry,baby,what happened?",she asked and hugged him tightly."I'm here.Stop crying.Shhhh.Everything is okay now."

"No mum.Nothing is okay.Evrrything is so fucked up.Louis left me."

"No Harry don't say that."

"What?Do you even hear what you are saying?I'm alone now."

"Couples always have arguments.It's normal.He will come back soon.I promise.",Anne said trying to comfort him.

"How can you say that?How can you be so sure?"

"I'm not sure about anything anymore.I'm just positive."

"Bullshit mum.This is bullshit.I want to be alone today.Leave please."

"There is no way me and Johanna to leave you hear at Christmas all alone."

"Mum,i don't fucking care anymore about what you want,think ot say.I want to be alone.I need this."

"All you need is someone right now."

"Maybe you're right,but that someone is not by my side now and everything sucks.Now leave please."

"Harry don't,please...",Johanna said as she came to his room as well.

"Johanna,i know how to take care of myself."

"I never doubted that Harry.But we are only here to help you."

"Maybe i don't want to get helped.Maybe all i want is to find peace."

"We just want to help baby.",she said and grabbed his hand.

"If you really want to help me,then please leave me alone."

The two women looked at each other and finally they agreed to leave him alone but only for a fee hours.They said that they would get back by the evening to check him.

Harry really felt so relieved that he would stay alone even if this was only for a few hours.He truly needed that.

He carefully went down stairs after Anne and Jo left,and sat to the couch in the living room.He started looking outside from the window.Everything was covered with snow.He was noticing how the snowflakes were falling down to the grass and how peaceful everything seemed to be.

He got up and went to the kitchen where he put the radio on.The playlist had only Christmas songs and he loved that.He wanted to make some cookies that Louis used to make.He was wondering if he would come back home tonight.He really wanted that so he was gonna make those cookies for him.

After that he took some photos they had with Louis started putting them all really carefully into an album that he bought.They didn't have one so he thought it might be a good idea to gove him it when he comes back home.As a gift.He truly believed that Louis would be back by the night to celebrate together.

The hours passed really quickly and by the evening Harry had make cookies,cook dinner,made a photo album,watched some Christmas movies,took a shower and prepared for tonight.

Suddenly,he heard the keys in the door and went to see if Louis came.Anne and Johanna got in with their hands full of bags.When Harry saw them,the smile he had faded.

"Oh,baby,you look gorgeous!",Anne said.

"Facts.You look amazing Hazza.",Johanna added.

"Um,thanks."

"We bought you these.Merry Christmas Harry!"

"Merry Christmas Hazza.Hope every single little wish you made,become true.",Johanna said and gave him their gift.

He took it and opened it.It was a silver bracelet in which it was written "love is love".

"That's really beautiful.Thanks ladies."

"This is the least we could do."Anne said and laughed to Johanna.

"Yes she is right."

"What have you cooked baby?"

"Oh God,that smell is gonna kill me."

"Me too."

Harry showed them the dishes and then gave them 2 glasses and put wine in them.

"I'm kinda hungry.",Anne said."What do you thinking about eating?"

"Yes that would be nice.",Jo added.

"But what about Lou?",Harry interrupted."It wouldn't be nice to eat without him,right?"

"Yes,baby,you're right,but..."

"But what?"he asked Anne.

"But,Louis won't be here tonight.He visited his sisters and Mark so he can't be with us.I'm sorry Harry.",Johanna said and caressed his arm.

"Oh.Um,it's okay.Never mind."

Harry tried to hide his sadness and disappointment and smiled to Anne and Johanna.

"Let's eat ladies.",he laughed and brought the dishes.

As they were eating the three of them and talking about different stuff like the new music he and the boys would make in their next album and about the tour,Harry realised how empty is their house without him.

"Johanna,have you spoke to him?",Harry interrupted her and drank a sip from his wine.

"Um,to Louis?Yes,i spoke to him a few hours ago."

"Is he okay?Because i have called him like a thousand times but didn't answer it."

"Oh,yes,honey,he is totally fine.I didn't actually call him.Louos was the one that called.He has really missed the girls and Mark so he wanted to spend sometime with them.",Johanna confronted him.

"Okay.",he whispered and smiled.

"Don't worry.I'm sure he will call you but tomorrow."

"I miss him.",he stopped and looked away."I haven't seen him in a day and i truly miss him.Am i crazy?Am i broken or something?",Harry said and started crying.

"No baby,nothing is wrong with you."

"You just love him so much honey.That's all."

"And he loves you back.That's the most important thing of all."

"You know what?",Harry stood up and walked around the table."I really miss him and i'm not ashamed of saying it.I'm sure he misses me as well but he is so stubborn and selfish that wouldn't even text me."

"I know honey.",Johanna agreed.

"Even though he is like that,i love him with all my heart and i wouldn't stop loving him even if he betrayed,dumped or hurt me.He will never understand how much i love him,although i remind him daily."

Harry went back to his chair and sat down.He raised his glass just like Anne and Johanna did after him.

"Think of a person.A person who has made you smile,cry,had made you angry but no matter what,they will always be the perfect one for you.Cheers to that person!"
