I felt like I am moving, but I am sure I am sleeping, I opened my eyes slightly, I can't see anything clearly, I heard someone call my name, but I can't reply. I felt a sharp pain in my shoulder and everything blacked out.

One hour ago

I know where is Jake hiding most of the time. I am walking through the Duskwood forest only to go and see Jake.

I went further inside, "hands up!" I heard someone say. I went to that side, I was shocked by the sight I saw. "Hands up!" The person, Mr. Alan Bloomgate said as he held a gun pointing towards Jake who is standing opposite to him at a 5-meter distance.

But from my place Jake is close, but no one saw me. I noticed that there is another officer with Mr. Alan. Jake raised his hands slowly.

"You are a wanted hacker, you know right?" Mr. Alan spoke. "So, you think we will let you go just like that?" He continued.

But Jake didn't say anything, he just stood there with his hands raised. "You are gonna die here," the other officer said. My eyes widened in shock, I looked at Mr. Alan who is ready to shoot Jake.

He was about to shoot, "Jake!" I shouted as I ran and wrapped my hand around his neck, I heard a bang as I felt a sharp pain in my shoulder.

"MC!!" Jake shouted in shock as he held me in his hands. "Jake," I muttered as everything blacked out.

Present

I opened my eyes only to see my Duskwood friends, I searched for Jake, but he is not there. "You alright, MC?" Jessy asked.

"How do you feel?" Richy asked. "Should I call the doctor?" Dan asked. "Do it fast, Dan!" Lily shouted. "Can you able to speak?" Thomas asked.

"Look, I made a cake for you," Cleo said. They care for me, but Jake is important now. "Where is Jake?" I questioned them.

They looked at each other, "he...," Jessy trailed. Please don't tell me he was arrested. I teardrop trickled from my eyes.

The door slammed open only to reveal Jake covered with blood. "Jake," I called him. He ran towards me with his eyes full of tears.

Hannah signed others to come out to leave us alone. They all went out.

He held my hand in his, "MC, I thought I will lose you," he said as tears escaped from his beautiful eyes.

"I thought I won't see you after this," I said as tears rolled down my cheeks. He looked at me concerned and kissed me on my forehead.

"Why did you came between?" He questioned me. "How can I see someone shoot you in front of me?" I asked while crying.

"But MC, it is a plan," he said which made me confused. "What?" I asked him with a frown. "Yes, it is a plan which made by me and Mr. Alan," he said.

"Alan Bloomgate?" I asked shocked. "He understood that I did the right job, so he decided to help me. We made a plan, that is: Alan will shoot me in front of one of his officers only to make them believe I am dead,"

"Only to cheat the government, if they believe I am dead, they will start to forget about me. So that we can live happily," he said.

"But if he shoots you, you will be dead," I exclaimed. "No, Mr. Alan gave me a bulletproof jacket," he said.

Looks like I am the one who ruined their plan. "Jake, I am sorry," I said. "Why?" He frowned. "Because I ruined your plan," I said.

Before Jake could say anything, the door opened again to reveal the doctor. "You awake?" The doctor asked, "I am good," I said while wiping my tears.

"You know what? Your boyfriend is really worried about you so much when he carried you with blood," the doctor said with a smile.

I looked at Jake and gave a smile, "alright, you will get well soon. Just take some rest for a week," the doctor said.

I nodded. "Take care of her," he said to Jake. "I will," he said while looked at me. As soon as the doctor left the place, Mr. Alan entered.

"Hey, how are you?" He asked looking at me. "Good," I replied. "Jake, I want to talk to you," he said looking at Jake.

I looked at him, I held Jake's hand. He looked at me, "I will be back," he said to me. I shook my head in disagreement, because I still don't trust Mr. Alan.

Jake looked at Mr. Alan, he nodded and went out. Then Jake turned to me, "MC, he won't do anything to me," he said. "I don't trust him," I said with a frown.

"MC, if he really doesn't want to help me,  I should have in prison now or dead," Jake said. "So, sleep now," he said as he gave a quick kiss on my lips.

I don't trust Mr. Alan, but I trust Jake. So, I didn't oppose.  Then my Duskwood friends came in. They all stared at me without saying anything.

I looked at Cleo, "I want cake," I said with a pout. They chuckled, "you made us all worry," Richy said.

"I didn't do it on purpose," I said while playing with my hands. Jessy sighed and hugged me. "Hey," she said and rocked me.

Cleo handed me a piece of cake with a spoon, which I accepted with a grin. While eating I still felt the pain in my shoulder.

Since it became night they all went, Cleo left the balance cake on the table for me. Jake came inside, "Jake, what happened?" I asked him.

"He said he will find a way to free me," Jake said as he sat near me. I grinned hearing what he said just now.

He looked at me, "MC, never do that," he said staring into my eyes. "Do what?" I asked. "Never try to protect me like that," he said. "But-" he cut me off by pulling me into a kiss.

His hand made its way to my waist, I run my fingers through the back of his hair. He squeezed my waist lightly.

I felt his hand move above my back and pulled me closer by pressing my Shoulder, I yelped in pain. He broke the kiss then looked at me.

"Sorry," he said knowingly what he did. "It's alright," I said with a Chuckle looking at his reaction. "Is it painful?" He asked pointing to my Shoulder.

"Yes, but I felt less pain when you kissed me," I said grinning. "So, why don't you kiss me the whole night?" I asked with the same grin.

He chuckled, "just sleep," he said as he made me to sleep on my bed. "So, no more kiss tonight?" I said disappointed looking at him.

He leaned and gave a quick kiss on my lips, "Good night," he said with a smile.
