Emily's POV

I call Hanna up right in front of Alison and she answers first ring, like always. "Hey Han. Do you mind changing English partners with me? Blondie's getting on my nerves."

"No way, I don't want Blondie and plus, Alex has agreed that he'll do my other assignments too."

"What the fuck? How did you manage that?" I already know though. Hanna's a flirt and she's pretty, guys would kill for her.

"Bit of flirting here and there." A normal friend would criticise her for being unfaithful or whatever but I'm no hypocrite. I've heard the rumors about me having a one-night stand every Saturday night and they aren't too far from the truth. Not like Hanna's boyfriend is all that faithful anyway. That's just how things work at Rosewood High. As long as you have a jock boyfriend, you're popular. If your boyfriend happens to be Ben Coogan, the captain of the football team, then it doesn't matter how you spend your Saturday night. So that's what I do. Ben is my boyfriend and everyone knows it but both of us spend our Saturdays flirting with randoms at clubs. It's fun and gives me a release from everything. Hanna joins me all the time and we both love it. Call me a slut or whatever but it was honestly nice to have no strings attached. Well, if Alison had it her way I would have to do this stupid group project on my Saturday which was solely reserved for clubbing and sex.

"Well Blondie's trying to make me work," I tell Hanna through the phone. I hear Alison sigh next to me. She's pissed off and I'm having way to much fun to stop.

"She won't have much luck with that one," Hanna chuckles. We both know I haven't handed in an assignment since junior year. Alison's glaring at me now and I pretend I don't see her.

"Blondie's crazy if she thinks I'm doing any work," I say. That seems to be the last straw for Alison and she grabs the phone off me and hangs up on Hanna. Whatever, Hanna won't care. Alison pockets my phone and I try to act normal but she's pissed me off too. She shouldn't take my phone, anyone who's been at Rosewood High long enough knows that I'm attached to my phone.

"Stop calling me Blondie first of all and second of all do some work," Alison yells, clearly annoyed.

"Yes mum," I reply but I make no movement to actually do anything. I gaze at her with challenge in my eyes. The next hour or so is just spent with the two of us fighting; both of us are too stubborn to give into the other. Alison has a strong side too, otherwise she wouldn't have dared to approach Hanna and I on the first day of school. Whatever, she's far too soft. At this rate, we aren't going to get our assignment done. Not that I care but Alison looks like she'd be disappointed with anything that's not an A. The moment I go back to smoking in her room, Alison snaps. "You know what? Just get out! I'd rather fail then spend another second with you!"

Alison slams the door in my face and in that brief second before the door closes I get a glance of her face. That brief second is enough though, enough for me to realise that Alison DiLaurentis is the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. I chase that thought out of my mind. She's far too perfect for me. And plus, I'm going out with Ben. Not to mention, Alison is a girl. I reason with myself as to why I cannot possibly like Alison and I almost convince myself. Almost.

I tell myself I have better things to be doing anyway. I decide to go shopping as it's Friday afternoon and I need something to wear to the club tomorrow. I decide to call up Hanna as she's really into fashion. It's only then that I realise Alison DiLaurentis still has my phone.
