The queen leads me down white winding hallways that see to stretch on forever.
Until we finally make it to what looks to be a library, with books towering over us all leading to a pedi stool holding the old calendar that is supposed to tell the entire history of underland.
According to the movie atleast.
The queen unrolls the scroll allowing it to roll out and across the floor.
"Right here" she points to a moving picture of someone that looks like me falling into the red queens throne room.
"That's definitely me"
Suddenly a door opens behind us and in walks the white hare wearing his signature blue waistcoat and Alice?
I do a double take.
'Isn't Alice supposed to be on a ship sailing to China right about now?'
"Your highness, I..." the white rabbit stops and stares up at me with a look of confusion.
"Who are you?" He asks and I'm about to answer him until a funny feeling comes over me.
"Somethings wrong" I say as the trio look at me weirdly.
And in a flash, literally, I wake up in my classroom.
"Olivia, what was the answer to question number 8?" My maths teacher turns around and points to me.
"I...uh don't know, I wasn't paying attention sorry" he shakes his head and asks someone else.
"Hey, are you alright? You look really pale" Rocket leans over to me across the desk.
"I..." but I'm at a loss for words.
"You two, be quiet!" He shouts.
"Sorry Sir but my friend here is feeling very unwell, can we go to the nurses office?"
"Hurry up"
Rocket stands up and I follow, grabbing our bags and walking out of the classroom.
As we walk down the hallway, I look out to the sky to find it clear.
"So what's wrong? After I didn't see you again after Gym and the rest of the day, INCLUDING the afternoon and weekend, something is wrong" He turns to me with a small frown.
"If I told you, you would say I'm crazy" I feed a hand through my hair.
"I surely doubt that" he stares at me, waiting for an explanation.
"I just need some time to get back down to earth"
"Well, how about we go into the forest? The teachers won't notice we're gone" he gestures to the line of tree in the distance.
"I need to stop by the library first"
"You? The library? Is it raining pigs?" He jokes and I force out a laugh.
"I'll meet you there" and we part ways.
~~~
"Do you have Alice in wonderland?"
"Yes we do, on row two, the fifth shelf"
As I scour the shelves I finally find the book.
I take it out and sit at a desk, flipping the pages for a sign about what happened to me.
Until I reach the very back of the book and find a few pages that have
"The adventures of two friends in wonderland"
As I skim over the pages I see my name.
'Follow the adventures of Rain Romana and how they will figure out why wonderland is the way it is. What side will they choose? And will they make the ultimate decision to fight the-'
I turn the page to see it's blank.
I close the book and reshelve the book.
~~~
As the leaves crunch from underneath my boots, I straighten out my crinkled flannel that I left at the Red Queens castle.
"Rocket! Where are you hiding?" I call out, only to get silence in return.
The silence gets broken with the shuffling of leaves behind me.
I spin around to see the white rabbit from underland.
"You!" We both yell at the same time.
"You're the rabbit from underland"
"You're the human that disappeared"
I squat down to his level and he edges closer.
"Can you bring me back to underland? I have unfinished business there" I explain and he twitches his nose nervously.
"Why were you with the White Queen?" He tries to look intimidating but fails to do so.
"Both queens know who I am and I don't, they both use my old name but it seems I have a part to play in the future"
"And what is your old name?"
I look away slightly.
"My old name is Olivia but my new name is Rain" he jumps slightly at my dead name.
"I have heard of someone named Olivia that fights the Red Queens champion and I have also heard of a Rain who is said to have great magical powers" he states.
"So, can you take me back there?" I look at him with pleading eyes.
"Fine"
"Thank you" and he hops off towards the tree stump.
"Is there always a portal here?" I ask with curiosity.
"There is but there are multiple other ones scattered around the forest" he explains while sitting at the edge of the hole.
"Personally, I hate the part when I have to jump down there, it always frightens me" he stares with a hint of worry in his voice.
I pick him up and hold him against my chest with a small amount of effort.
"Feel better now?" He whimpers slightly.
"Hold on!" I say as I take a leap and jump down into the hole.
