The car jerked forward, speeding down the outstretched road as the tires squealed against the asphalt. I felt Dabi tense up next to me as he grabbed onto the seat beneath him. "No need to be so frightened, love. Don't you trust me?" I snickered.
"I'm not scared" he snapped. I took my eyes off the road in front of me and gazed straight into his turquoise eyes, not blinking. "Prove it" I challenged. Panic crept to his face when I pressed my foot down harder, making the car go faster. I chuckled lowly and turned back to the road. "Your crazy. I like that" he breathed.
"That's not what your seats telling me." I smiled. I corner approached and I readied myself. "S-slow down! Your not gonna make that corner at this speed!" He cried out as his hand gripped onto my forearm. "Oh yeah? Watch me." I stated coolly. Daishō's purple Nissan 370Z crept closer to my rear, obviously with the use of Nitrous.
I growled and stepped harder on the accelerator, swerving to the right to turn the sharp corner. The car locked into a smooth drift. The drift was heavy as I felt the back of the car shift to the left, the tires skidded across the ground causing a loud screech to fill my ears. Dabi's grip tightened on my arm as his body ricocheted in the same direction, his back up against the passenger door.
My awesome skills helped me gain at least a 200 meter distance between me and the other cars. My win was guaranteed. A couple more turns later and the finish line came into view. We'd done a full loop of the suburb and come back to where we started. I sped up and turned to Dabi. "Do me a favor, love?" I Asked, he hummed and looked at me, his hand still gripping onto my arm, drawing blood.
"When I say, stick your hand out the window and shoot your flames out, I'll do the same on this side." I winked at him and he did as I said. His hand handing out the window. I did the same and started to count down form 3. Before we reached the finish line I shouted "now!" on the left side of the car, bright blue flames danced in the breeze and on the right black and a tinge of red mimicked the other.
I could hear the crowds roar grow louder as we showed off. Finally, the stingray crossed the finish line and multiple people surrounded the car as it stopped dead. Dabi let go of my arm and I spoke up "If I had known you were going to stab me I wouldn't have even bothered asking to drive." I grumbled as I looked at the marks he'd left on my arm.
He mumbled a quick sorry before stepping out. I filed out after him and I was met by screaming people, congratulating me. Soon after the 3 other cars came rolling to a stop. Daishō came into view and he banged his hands on the steering wheel before hoping out and approaching me. "Fuck you. Little shit, how do you still manage to win after all these years" he complained.
I grinned "jealous, viper? I didn't even use NOS. You did. And I still beat you. That's embarrassing man, you'll win one day, maybe, but today is not that day."
He growled at me before stomping away. Yūsuke handed me a huge wad of cash. "Woah, Yū. That's way more than 20 grand." I gaped. "What'd ya think would happen, pro? Chaos is back and you thought people weren't going to bet on you?" He remarked, a hint of sarcasm laced in his tone. I rolled my eyes. "How much?"
"Well the 20 grand obviously. And then an extra 10 grand on top of that." My mouth dropped. "What do you mean?! There's no way- I make that much in a race. Not off a bet." I was in shock. That's a lot of money. I had 30 grand in my hand and I hadn't even been here 24 hours yet. I thanked Yūsuke and we exchanged numbers before he fucked off to god knows where.
I turned to Dabi and handed him 5 grand. "Here" I said. He raised an eyebrow, not taking the cash. "For letting me race your car." I informed. He nodded "ok fine. I'll take it. Only because you have like another 25 g's all to yourself." He scoffed.
