Warning: If you are sensitive to mentions self harm I would strongly recommend not reading this part. And if you do read this you have been warned.
Everything has gone to shit. Everyone always told you 'The purpose of living is to be happy'. People at your church, your neighbors, your aunt. Your parents used to say that. But it's pretty fucking hard to be happy if all life does is shit on you right?
Well some how you managed to put a smile on your face and others even if it was hard to do so. You tried your best and it never seemed to be enough. No amount of praying or begging to God did you any good. Everytime you'd pray for something good to happen to you or your family something bad would happen. The hope and faith you put into God as a kid was slowly slipping away with every bad event.
First it was your parents.
Then your bestfriend.
Your only friend moved away.
Your dog died.
Now this.Your aunt. She was the only family you had when your parents died. It has just been you and her against it all. She was your smiling face in the mornings, your shoulder to cry on, your rock. Now she's gone too.
She looked peaceful like she was sleeping. But she's not going to wake up. You sat beside her bed holding onto her hand in yours. The tears slipped from your eyes and rolled down your cheek, falling from your face onto the pristine white sheets of the bed.
"I'm sorry." You choked out quietly to her. Bowing your head down to her hand and placed a kiss to her fingers the way she did when you were younger.
You took a deep breath, wiping away any stray tears. You stood up slowly and let her hand slip from yours. You grabbed your bag and walked out of the room.
The days seemed to just pass by and now you watch as your aunts coffin descends into the ground. It was her favorite color too, a beautiful shade of mahogany red.
You stood there for what felt like hours. The sun started to set as you pulled yourself away from her grave. Opening the door the house you once loved now felt empty.
Walking down the hall past all the pictures of you and your aunt throughout the years. With each step you took, with every picture on the wall you past a heaviness weighed on your mind.
Your breath became labored and your body felt as if it was on fire. You stumbled to the bathroom turning on the faucet and splash cold water on your face. Looking up to the mirror staring yourself in the eyes. You lip trembled as you held back tears.
'It's not fair. Why did they have to die? Why wasn't it me?'
Those thoughts circle around in you head. Without thinking you began rummaging through the drors. You shaking hands pick up a small box. The metal glinted in the artificial light. Closing your eyes you let the tears slip the cool metal pressed to the skin of your wrist as you let out shakey.
'You deserve this. It's your fault.'
Over and over you thought this as the blade pierced the skin of your wrists again and again. Then the doorbell brought you out of the depressed trance you were in. You eyes shot open and you scrambled to put the blade down. Your vision was blurred and your head spinned as you stumbled to the front door. As you reached for the doorknob you collapsed.
The door opened.
A figure screamed and rushed to you.
Then it all went black.
