"All I'm saying is that the pins are a huge success," Draco argued, walking backward to face the group. Faris couldn't help but smile at Draco's excitement and pride over the pins, seeing the smile on her face made him happy.
"And all I'm saying is that you need to shut up about your damn pins . . . So Faris-wheel, how do you feel about pumpkin pasties?" Blaise asked.
Her face twisted at the thought of the pastries, "It's dry and chewy, so it's a no for me."
His brows furrowed in offense, pumpkin pasties were one of his favorite desserts at Hogwarts. Not that he was picky. "Well that was uncalled for," Blaise said, tickling the pear on the portrait.
The golden frame swung open and little heads turned towards the circular entrance in unison. Immediately, the group was greeted by dishes of food: rolls, cauldron cakes, ladyfingers, and tea sandwiches.
Blaise picked up one of each from every tray held out and he proceeded to shovel them into his mouth with no shame.
"Get some napkins for him while you're at it, will you?" Pansy said to one of the elves.
The elf scurried off towards a brown cabinet, jumping onto the counter to reach the shelf. Blaise sat down in a corner on the floor and Faris followed suit. Draco hesitantly sat across from Faris on the stone floor.
The elves crowded around them, offering their platters of food like cooks for a royal family. Blaise held up his hand to stop them from exhausting their twig-like arms.
"Just set the plates down on the ground, we'll be here awhile."
The elves nodded curtly, returning to their neat stations, decorated with hanging pots and pans. They began to make their preparations for dinner, tossing spices and herbs into bowls and intricately frosting the desserts.
Faris couldn't help but watch the elves scurry around the kitchen, students weren't allowed inside the kitchens at Beauxbatons. The cooks were very strict about who came into their workspace. Meals were always eaten in the dining hall, it was rare that you saw students wandering around campus with food.
"Are you gonna tell me 'bout what happened with our friend Granger?" Faris asked, spooning into a dish of cinnamon rolls.
"Yes ma'am, this is reporter Blaise handing the mic off to Draco. Draco can you tell us your thoughts on recent events?" Blaise leaned towards Draco, cupping his hand on the invisible microphone.
"Cut the bullshit, mate, I got Granger sent to the Hospital wing for who knows how long," Draco said, now digging into the same dish of cinnamon rolls as Faris.
"And there you have it folks, now back to the desk."
Everyone ignored Blaise's silly bit. "Don't tell me the famous Draco Malfoy is feeling guilty over a Mudblood saber tooth tiger?" Pansy gasped with fake shock laced in her voice.
"It was funny for a little while but now I don't see it as much of a joke anymore," Draco mumbled, shoving a chunk of cinnamon roll into his mouth.
"Ah, so you are feeling guilty," Pansy chuckled, her glare hardening and her grip tightening around her spoon. "Never thought I'd see the day."
"No I'm not feeling bad for Granger, I just don't really like hurting people physically."
"So all those fistfights in the past weren't 'physical' to you?" Blaise asked.
"Those were just a spur of the moment, like it needed to be done."
"You needed to punch Macmillan in the nose?" Blaise asked with a mouth full of ladyfingers.
