I am sick and tired of sitting in Defense Against the Dark Arts just to be teased and mocked.
Blaise slid a piece of torn paper towards Draco when Moody had his back to the class. Draco unfolded the paper, careful to make sure it didn't make a sound.
Do you have a date for the Yule Ball yet? You need to get a move on the Ball is in 10 days!
Draco scribbled on the back of the paper, 'No, but I do have someone I wanted to ask'
"Not passing notes are we, Mr. Malfoy?" Moody barked, turning his head away from the chalkboard. Draco tensed up, his stomach dropping. "Detention at seven o'clock tonight, my office." As Moody levitated the paper into his hands, he chuckled as he read the slip. "Better get going if you want a date, Mr. Malfoy." He mumbled a spell lighting the slip of paper on fire crumbling to ash in his hand; Brushing the flakes of ash off on his cloak leaving a long charcoaled smear he continued to teach the lesson.
Draco's face flushed red, running a hand through his hair, he rested his hand on his temple blocking the student's view of his face. He could feel his face burning. He bit his tongue so hard that his eyes started watering, he could feel the student's eyes on him.
Now you have to be alone in detention with Mad eye Moody, an ex-Auror who loves to call out the misbehaving students and perform unforgivable curses on arachnids. That sounds about right.

"So exactly who did you have in mind?" Blaise asked.
Draco searched around the great hall before answering Blaise, "Faris." Blaises face dropped, his mouth pressing into a firm line. "Don't tell me you've asked her?!"
"Well, no, but I was planning on asking her to go as friends." He shrugged. "But I'll let you have a go, so you can confess your love to her," Blaise smirked.
"I'm not in love with her, Zabini, when is that thought going to sink into that thick head of yours?"
Blaise rolled his eyes picking up the Daily Prophet. "When are you going to ask her?"
"I don't know."
"Well get a move on you're running out of time"
"As if I don't know that," Draco hissed.
"Are you going to get her flowers or something out of generosity . . . or love?"
Draco hadn't even thought of getting her flowers he was more focused on when he was going to ask her. In fact, he was so focused on that topic he hadn't even thought about the idea that he should get her flowers or there was also a possibility she might reject him. He imagined a girl like her would already have a lineup of boys asking her to the ball. Then he would be left to go to the ball with the one and only pug-face Pansy Parkinson.
When he thought about going to the ball with Faris his heart would flutter and a smile would stretch upon his pointed face. He could almost feel her wrapped in a close embrace as they danced on the cold night where the great hall is decorated to look like a winter wonderland. He pictured himself talking to her as if they were the closest of friends telling each other embarrassing stories and laughing till they couldn't breathe. He could see her smile while he spun her in and out of his arms, the happiness and giddiness radiating off her like sun rays.
Then he compared his fantasies with going to the Yule ball with Pansy.
She would be complaining the entire night or ranting endlessly. Or immediately getting jealous if Draco even came close to looking at another girl. Then she would wear pink. A god-awful shade of pink. Her dress would be so shiny it would look like she belonged on a Christmas tree as tinsel. Her pug-face would be caked with makeup, her doughy hands would be clutching onto his arm all night until the blood had drained from his arm. Or his arm would fall asleep and it would feel like someone was pouring sand on his arm or tiny bugs were crawling up to his shoulder.
"Will you just drop it, already?" Draco said, standing up and heading towards the door.
Blaise made a kissy face, "see you at dance practice, cutie!"

"Switch dance position," Snape called.
Draco moved his hands down to Blaise's waist, "How amorous of you, Draco," Blaise flirted, giving him a cheesy wink.
Draco lifted Blaise into the air, Blaise smiling brightly as he looked over all the other girls lifted up in the air. "Bloody hell, you're heavier than you look," Draco groaned. Plopping him down on the ground Blaise's knees almost giving out from the impact.
"Well, I'm not fat, I just have a high metabolism."
"So I've heard."
