I made my way to the kitchen before everyone else did. That girl from yesterday said Cecilia and the others had their breakfast there always. That's how I planned on getting their attention.Remembering what happened the night before, I sighed. My mate was likely one of the alphas here, unless some other alpha has been staying here, and I was likely to see him. Why did he leave yesterday, I wasn't going to allow him to reject me. He wouldn't dare, if anything I was the one who had the the choice of rejection. After all, he was the one who needed anger management classes. The audacity of that guy.
I was busy scrolling through some of my recent comments on my last week post, when some voices appeared behind me.
"Genevieve? didn't expect to see you here," Cecilia mentioned as she walked in. "Guys this is one of our most recent transfer." She introduced me to a guy and a girl who walked in beside her, the blond guy with incredible hot, standing at 6 feet, his brown eyes scanned me up and down then he smile. The girl wore a mullet wolf cut with half of it red and the other half black, it matched with her raven pants outfit. Headphones laid lazily on her head as she eyed me with a bored expression.
She walked to the stove then gestured to the pair, "This is Rosalind, our beta, and Alpha Carter," I looked at the alpha hoping he'd be the one from last night, unfortunately he wasn't. There was no connection whatsoever but he was attractive.
The girl rolled her eyes and walked to the fridge with a scoff. What's her problem?
Carter walked up behind Cecilia and took the coffee cup from her hands, then came to sit on the counter beside me.
"That's mine you idiot." She barked out then she smiled.
"Soo....," he started. "How's life here?" He took a sip of the coffee he stole from Cecilia, waiting for my response.
I shrugged, "there's not really much to do around here."
He gasped, as if I had said something offense, "That's because you haven't been out as yet, you haven't see the world through my eyes."
I scoffed, "That would only make it less interesting." I mean, he was an alpha, does he even know how to have fun?
"We'll see," he smirked.
"I'll see you in my office," Cecilia interfered. She settle down in the stool beside me with two plates filled with greasy food; eggs, bacon, toast, and much more. I can never eat that type of destructive stuff, who knows what it would do to my body. I had a strict diet and have never strayed from it, I don't intend on getting fat; it's not likely to happen to my kind but it's good to be safe.
"Your parents are done with your slacking off and unhealthy habits." She continued.
"Yeah, uncle Clyde and aunt Lavinia are out, attending a meeting right now because you're too'busy'." Rosalind added an air quoted busy and make a face.
"Can we discuss this when we are not around visitors?" Carter say to the two with a pointed look.
"Why? Do you not want her to know how lazy you are?"
Carter inhaled then sighed deeply.
Cecilia continued to scold him but I zoned out of their conversation when the most satisfying, aromatic fragrance stole my attention. I became light headed recognizing it was my mate's scent from the night before. It alone was the persuasion I need to run to him but then I remembered how he turned away from me. My heart attempted a painful escape through my throat. How would he react when he see me? What would he do? I didn't want to face him, so I ran out of the kitchen and straight to my room. The others questioned my sudden dismissal but I ignored them.
I slammed the door then frustratingly slid to the floor with my head between my knees. I shouldn't have chickened out. I should have stayed and faced him. He had nothing against me, so there was no reason to run away. I'm totally in control of this situation, and I'll always be. This alpha will just have to adjust to that. After giving myself a few minutes I got up and showered. When I came back to the room, I found an envelope. I looked around and saw no one, and I didn't smell any sign that someone was in there.
With my towel wrapped around my soaked body and my damped hair dripping water, I sat on the bed. I tore the white paper open and took out a neatly folded letter. My eyes widen when I recognized my mother's handwriting.
"When you get this, you'll already be in lichen. Whatever you do, don't leave and don't let anyone know the real reason you're there or where you are from. This wasn't my intention but it falls into my plan, and you need to do as I say. You're already aware of your task, complete it. You want this as much as I do, so don't mess up."
I used my hand to support myself as I slowly stood from the bed. How did she get this to me? Is she here? Or did someone do it for her? Part of me hope that she was here but the other part found it amusing that I could do whatever I want if she wasn't. She doesn't know that I've found my mate at the lichen pack, and that's definitely not in her plan.
Well mother, I guess I have the upper hand here.

I needed to create an even more accurate strategy, so I decided to take short walk outside. I was dressed in a short sleeved pink blouse and a white miniskirt with matching shoes. The moment I step outside I could feel everyone's else on me, I continued as if they didn't exist. I found myself walking towards the waterfall, the place I first saw him. He was the only thing I was thinking about. Was he also thinking about me? No one else should occupy his mind apart from I, his luna.
Does he even have a girlfriend? If he doesn't, he will surely have to kill her, or I'll do it myself. Nothing will stop me from taking my position in this pack. Not him, not my mother, no one. It's rightfully....
"Ahhhhhhh," my thoughts were cut short by my own screams. I must have been so caught up that I didn't realize I was at the waterfall. I walked out of the path and over the edge. My heart basically jumped through my throat and screeched. My eyes were tightly closed as I shifted on instinct. I fell head first in the waiting water, my senses were overpowering my the sudden gesture. In a split second, I was swimming to the surface in human form. It wasn't the best idea to shift because I couldn't swim, and if I drowned people were likely to find me naked.
I mean who wouldn't kill to see me naked?
Not going to help the situation Genevieve!!!!
I tried to move my hands around but I'm sure it appeared as if I was trying to mock a bird with a broken wing whose dream was to fly. My eyes were still shut because the water was irritating them. I was being pushed around by the angry waters then I felt myself drifting away. I started to sink, along with all my hopes. Then, when it seem as my faith was being fulfilled, someone came. They held me then dragged us both up. I breathed in nothing but water and panicked, clawing at the arm wrapped around me, hoping they could reach faster. We swam to the surface, coughing and breathing heavily.
My body was pressed on the body of male, my hands were on his shoulder while he held my waist; preventing us for sinking. His nearness made my body warm and his scent tickled my senses. I lifted my head and gazed into his blue eyes, they were deep and expressive. They flickered with curiosity, mirth and remorse, yet his face was emotionless. I was face to face with God's greatest creation. Don't get me wrong, I've seen cute guys before, but he was something I wasn't prepared for. He was, well, different from others. I was attracted to him, physically and emotionally. It wasn't just lust, my soul was yawning for its other half.
"You hurt?" he asked in a gravelly growl. I shook my head unable to reply with words. I was so caught up in the moment with him. "You need to be more careful, you could have died." He voice became more forceful, yet, he wasn't shouting at me.
Suddenly, I'm out of the water and in my clothes, the ones that got shredded just before. I was completely dry and the mystery guy was no where to be see. Magic?
I looked around for him, wondering what the hell just happened. How did I end up on land? I was just butt naked in the lake with my mate. I couldn't have dreamt about all that.
Or did I?
