Genevieve POV
The thought of seeing my best friend had me giddying all night, it's been so long and I couldn't wait. We agreed to met at a restaurant in the city to catch up because Ronnie had something to do and couldn't stay for long; he promised to come back though. After eating breakfast, I showered and got dress. I chose to wear a red miniskirt and a white crisscross tank top.
"Genevieve?" Kylen called with a knock on the room door.
Setting my hairbrush down I opened the door with bright eyes, "Yes?"
I waiting for a reply as he stared me up and down, "Uh, I-," he struggled.
"Yes Kylen?" I questioned with a small, suducive tone while bashing my eyelashes slowly.
Closing his eyes, he tried to regain control of himself. "I want to have you after you meet your friend." He opened his eyes with a deep breath.
My widened my eyes and I acted stunned,"You want to have me?"
"Yeah, I want- wait no, I don't want to have you," he stuttered, failing to see I was playing with him. "That's not what I meant, don't get me wrong I'd love to have you, but I was talking about a date."
I giggled at his cluelessness, "I'm just playing with you, chill." He looked relieved. "For an alpha you can have no idea sometimes."
"You look beautiful," he smiled.
"I know," I smirked. "I'll see you later alpha." I closed the door I went to finish my makeup.
Half an hour later, I got a text from Ronnie saying he was waiting at the restaurant. Checking myself for the hundredth time, I made sure everything was perfect then I left the house. Aurelia was out at a party with her daughter, Campbell was probably working and kylen left for an alpha meeting, so the house was empty then.
Parking the car, I rushed towards the building as fast as my heels could manage. Inside was peaceful with only elegant people eating quietly. The tables were far away so everyone could have the privacy they desired. My kind of place indeed, Ronnie knew just what I'd like. Speaking of Ronnie, I spotted him walking towards me. He told the workers at the entrance I was with him and they allowed me to go in. I grinned uncontrollably as I crashed myself into him.
Taking a deep whiff of my hair, his arms tightened around me; not that I was complaining. I sighed deeply and buried my head in his chest.
"I missed you," he confessed.
"I missed you too," I said not letting go.
"We should sit down," he chuckled lightly and I felt his chest vibrate. Ronnie held my hand and led me to the table he had prepared for us. We sat down and both of us couldn't stop grinning from excitement. Our waitress came, took both our orders then left again.
"Now, tell me what you've been doing for a week as you couldn't contact me at all." He requested.
"Well, I took your advice, went to his house, he told me I could leave, I was taken from his house, woke up in a cell, I was starved, I was.."
"Wait, what?" He stopped me.
"I was starved, you know, deprived of food." I repeated.
"What do you mean taken?" He growled.
"I got kidnapped, along with the Lunas of the pack." I cringed at his expression.
"How the fu*k did that happen?!" He growled one again, but low enough not to draw attention to us. "And where the hell was that mate of yours ?"
I needed to get him to calm down, "There wasn't anything he could do, we weren't together. Now can we stop talking about that for a moment?" I pled. "I miss spending time with you, I don't want to spend what we have now arguing."
He clenched his fist but nodded. The waitress came with our meal and we eat while catching up. The tension went away and we got a chance to enjoy each other's company.
He told me about his new pack and life there. He was now one of the best warriors and had been placed as his alpha's personal guard. Even though he hasn't found his mate, he was quite happy with his life so far, and I'm proud of what he had achieved.
He wasn't too excited to know I was staying at Kylen's place though. Actually, every time I brought up klyen he would get angry so I decided to stop and talk about my break from social media.
We spent two hours discussing senseless things, ate a lot of our favorite dishes then left. We drove back to the ice cream shop Kylen and I recently visited with Kailey. I didn't normally eat these type of treats but I was really amazed by the flavors there at the shop.
"What's the special occasion?" Ronnie asked upon entering the shop, we passed a bunch of people carrying decorations.
I shrugged as a gesture to show I wasn't sure. "Some traditional ceremony that's held every year, I guess."
"Oh, so you weren't going to invite me, huh?" We settled down in a booth after receiving our orders.
"What do you mean?" I raised a brow in question. "Aren't you leaving Lichen today?"
"Well I was going to staying but since you insist on me leaving I will." He shrugged.
I slapped his arm, "stop playing around dummy."
He laughed, "Yeah, I was kinda hoping to stick around for a while."
I squeezed his arm squealing happily, "I'd love that. My fans will freak once I start posting on social media."
"Do you think it's time for that?"
I nodded, "Yeah, I don't think anyone will know my location."
"Whatever you want Genni," he smiled.
Walking back to the car I asked Ronnie more about his new life. His answers were boring and short but then he started telling me about his job.
"Protecting the alpha was my calling," he started, cramming his hands into the pockets of his jeans as he stared upwards. "I mean, I never thought about it at first but then the alpha apparently saw potential in me. We're the same each and even though he's my alpha, he treats me as his equal."
I smiled, "Ouuu, do Ronnie has a crush on his alpha?"
He shook his head immediately, "what?? Nooo, I don't."
"Aweee it's cute that you're denying." I continued.
"Shut up dummy, I'm not gay and neither is he." He rolled his eyes.
"Well true love works it self through boundaries." I statement confidently.
A familiar scent caught my attention which caused me to stop and look around, Kylen was coming up behind us. A smile automatically made it way to my face and I waved.
"Hey," he smiled back. Ronnie growled beside me, I elbowed him hoping he'd behave.
"Is it our time so soon?" I asked looking at my phone. "Goodness, Ronnie we spent the entire day together, it's 5 pm."
"Doesn't feel like it," he added with a careless shrug.
"Ronnie this is my mate, kylen." I pointed out. "Kylen this is Ronnie my best friend."
Kylen nodded towards Ronnie, while Ronnie didn't acknowledge his presence. "Ronnie," I warned.
They shook hands and the moment their hands met we were blown away. Luckily I didn't hit anything to injure me. It took a while for the dust to clear up, when it did I found both idiots standing, staring hateful towards each other.
Why the hell would Kylen use his magic on Ronnie.
I got up and marched towards them, "what the hell is wrong with you?" I screamed angrily at kylen. Neither of them said anything and stormed off leaving me confused and angry. What the hell just happened?????
Guys are assh*les.
