Aone Takanobu's biggest concern has always been the fact that people are too scared to sit next to him on the train. He's gotten used to it by now but he couldn't help be bothered that people are so afraid of him.
"Are you okay Aone?" Futakuchi questioned the white haired male. Aone sighed as he walked with his teammate to class.
"I'm fine." Was all he said before entering their class. Futakuchi frowned, knowing that something put his tall friend in a bad mood.
All day the captain's friend was clearly upset, but Futakuchi chose not to pry in Aone's business. After the day ended the boys were on their way to practice. They soon spotted a small figure hurrying down the hall in their direction. Right toward Aone.
"Crap, crap gotta hurry or I'll be late." You mumbled to yourself as you ran down the hallway. Your friends were running behind you and were yelling something. You were in such a hurry you didn't even notice their voices, or that there was a tall, muscular male right in front of you.
Futakuchi and your friends watched as you collided into Aone's chest. Your papers flew out of your hands and into the air as you hit the ground with an "oomph" sound. Aone however was unaffected, still standing perfectly straight, even after you bumped into him.
You rubbed your head before looking up.
"Ah! Aone I'm so sorry! I wasn't paying attention to where I was going." You apologized to the tall teen, fumbling to pick up your papers that were now strewn about.
Your friends watched the intimidating look on Aone's face and were sure he was gonna yell at you, scold you, or worse.
"Uh ( ), Aone looks pretty mad. Forget the papers, let's just get out of here." One of them pleaded, tugging at your arm to get you to stand up.
You were about to protest and insist you stay and apologize more before a larger figure bent down and started to help you pick up your papers. You and your friend stared at Aone as he gathered the papers in his hands.
"You don't have to Apologize. I should've gotten out of the way." The middle blocker softly spoke. You looked at the snow haired boy and smiled, resuming picking up your papers.
"Then how about let's just call it even." You stated, putting out your hand to Aone after the two of you stood up. The 2nd year looked at you intently before shaking your hand. He handed you the rest of your papers and you smiled.
Your friends started to pull you away.
"C'mon we've got to get going ( )." One of them stated as they started to run.
"Thank you Aone-San!" You shouted to the middle blocker as you ran down the hall. Aone watched your retreating figure and just nodded.
Futakuchi smiled as he watched Aone stare at you. Helping you pick up your things and seeing you smile definitely put the tall teen in a better mood, and Futakuchi was thankful for it.
Aone listened to the sound of the busy train. Metal clanking, people talking, shoes squeaking. Once again he sat alone with no one sitting on either side of him. He decided to just ignore the sad feeling in his chest and rest his eyes a bit.
People were still shuffling in from his stop and he opened his eyes when he heard your voice.
"Ah Aone!" You smiled as you walked over to the white haired teen. He looked at you confused as you made your way over to where he sat.
"Something came up and my Mom told me to ride the train home today. I was a little nervous I would have to ride home sitting next to some random creepy strangers, but thank goodness you're here so I don't have to do that." You stated before sitting down next to Aone.
The second year looked at you with wide eyes, something in his heart fluttering as he looked at your small figure in the seat next to him.
"Ah, and thank you again for earlier Aone-San. If you didn't help me pick up my papers I would've been late for club, so I appreciate it." You said to the middle blocker, a bright smile on your face.
Aone just nodded once again as a "you're welcome". You giggled and attempted to start a conversation.
"So, do you always ride the train?"
A nod.
"Do any of your teammates ever ride the same train as you?"
A head shake.
"It's the volleyball club that you're in right?"
Another nod.
"Ha, you don't talk much do you Aone-San?" You questioned after getting no verbal answers from the white haired teen. Aone turned to look at you and shook his head.
"Ah, I don't blame you. Talking a lot and being social is pretty exhausting sometimes." You sighed as you leaned back in your seat. Aone just stared intently at you.
"But y'know Aone, people at school would be a lot less scared of you if you talked more." You chirped, meeting Aone's gaze. The teen tensed up at your words. You giggled at his reaction before continuing.
"A lot of people at school think that you're super mean because you never talk and always look so angry. Even my friends are scared of you."
Aone frowned deeply at your words.
"But I don't think you look or act scary at all. In fact, you remind me of a polar bear Aone-San." You told the 2nd year.
The middle blocker looked at you with confusion evident on his face. Seeing his expression caused you to burst into a fit of laughter. As you calmed down and caught your breath you started to elaborate.
"You do look pretty intimidating Aone, but you also look very warm and cuddly, just like a bear. And because your hair is white it makes me think of a polar bear. So to me, you're just like a polar bear." You grinned, turning to look back at Aone.
Aone was shocked by your words, his cheeks sporting a light pink color. He wanted to say something, but before he could, the train announced it was arriving at his stop.
"Ah this is my stop." You stated as you stood up. Aone quickly followed suit, standing up from his seat.
"Oh, is this your stop too Aone?" You questioned. Aone simply nodded and gestured for you to head to the train door first.
As the two of you left the station you realized you live in the same neighborhood. Aone offered to walk you home and you happily obliged.
The air smelt of early fall and the sound of your and and Aone's footsteps was rhythmic. Aone's presence was never one that scared you like it did your friends, instead it made you feel safe. You smiled as the two of you walked.
Aone on the other hand was having a dilemma. His heart was beating rapidly and his palms were extremely sweaty. He could feel the permanent heat in his cheeks and began to feel nervous at the new feeling.
"We're here." You chirped, snapping him out of his thoughts.
"Thank you for walking me home Aone." You smiled at him again. A warm feeling swarmed in Aone's stomach as he looked at your smiling face.
"Y-you're welcome." He said. His sudden decision to speak caught you by surprise, your smile growing even wider.
"I have to ride the train home tomorrow too, can I sit by you again Aone?" You asked the polar bear looking boy. Aone flashed an extremely rare smile and once again spoke.
"I would really like that."

The end :)
I know the whole train thing is kind of overused with Aone but it's a cute idea so I wanted to use it. Aone really reminds me of a cute and cuddly Polar bear and on the inside he's a big softie so I love him.
I hope you enjoyed! ^_^
