CHAPTER 5

"I see. So you heard... about my older brother." Mikey said. You were currently visiting Shinichiro's grave with Mikey and Draken; that in and of itself was nothing unusual for your little trio, but this time, Chifuyu and Takemitchy had joined you.

"Shinichiro-kun was an awesome guy." Draken said as he looked down at the grave.

You wordlessly held a large umbrella over Mikey, Draken, and yourself, as you were all huddled rather close together. Well... that was how it started out, anyway; Draken ended up being forced to hold it due to your height.

"Yeah." Mikey agreed.

"Takemitchy... We know, too. We know that past incident can't be undone. Baji and Kazutora didn't intend for that to happen." Draken said.

"Yeah... It's too late to change what happened. I know that. But, deep down, I can't accept it. The CB250T that Baji and Kazutora were trying to steal... was the one my brother rode." Mikey explained.

"What?!" Takemitchy squawked in disbelief.

"It was supposed to be my birthday present." You teared up at this. Every time you thought about Mikey's smiling face as he received such a precious gift from his precious brother, your heart ached; after all, who wouldn't wish for a future in which kind people survived?

"That CB250T's a memento from my brother. Now, it's my beloved ride. It's been two years since then. I've forgiven Baji. But... even if he didn't know... even if it's too late to change the past... I can't forgive Kazutora for killing my brother. And I can't forgive Baji for siding with him, either!" Mikey kept his gaze on his bike as he conveyed his overwhelming feelings. Your heart ached

"Takemitchy... I told you to bring Baji back, didn't I? So, why's his team's vice-captain here... but Baji isn't? What do you want to accomplish, Takemitchy? Do you really wanna die that badly?" Mikey aimed his wide and intimidating eyes on Takemitchy, who was just shaking in place as if he were a Chihuahua.

"Mikey-kun. I... want to be the top guy in Toman!! I'll make you realize that someday, Mikey-kun!! That's what I want to accomplish!!" Takemitchy declared with a clenched fist before just running off, Chifuyu following closely behind after bowing to you with an "Always nice to see you, (Name)-chan."

"Haha. That guy... what an idiot." After the two delinquents were out of sight, Draken smiled fondly and goofily at the thought of Takemitchy's blunt confession.

"... Yeah." Mikey agreed.

Draken then took note of your atypical silence and furrowed his brows. You were normally quite the adorable chatterbox... Baji's desertion must have really hit you hard. You meant, he had been - still was, actually - one of your closest friends, so naturally you weren't doing so hot. (However, you were not only thinking of Baji, but Takemitchy, as well; he always said the weirdest things.)

"(Nickname), you've been unusually quiet today. Who do I need to punch?" If it was done in the name of protecting you, violence would always be the answer. Well... violence would be the question, actually, but the answer to that question would always be yes in the name of protecting you. You laughed at this.

"You guys are so quick to jump into confrontations, honestly! I'm just... bummed about Kei, that's all." You picked at the ends of your hair as you focused your gaze on the grave in front of you.

"... Your sister's grave isn't too far away from here, right?" Mikey asked.

"Huh? Oh. Yeah. 'Mire's close. Right over here; I was actually gonna visit her after finishing up with Shinichiro-kun." You replied honestly. Mikey looked back at you with softened eyes.
