I was put into an old wheelie jeep on the passenger seat after about a 20 meter walk to the vehicle. A different man in combat armor got into the driver seat, he was wearing a full head balaclava, and combat armor helmet on top. Looking back, one other man in combat armor sat in the back.
There was an M249 mounted on the MG bar in the back, he didn't man it though. I gripped the side handle as we sped off at a good speed. We got onto a highway ramp and sped in on an open road for about 5-minutes till we got to an airport. "Paco Airport".
We stopped in the front of the terminal and I sat in my seat till instructed to move. All the large signs and the walls were painted with an E surrounded by stars.
I was told by the soldier to sit up and get out in a normal leveled voice. Doing so at my own speed, I stood up out of the jeep and walked over to him. The rain was still very light, but I had accumulated enough that I was starting to feel the environment through my jumpsuit. Not enough rain to soak me or get my feet wet just yet. The soldier turned around and just walked into the airport, I followed him close.
The AC was working, further chilling me, the building looked extremely clean on the inside, noticing there was no debris when walking into the airport. They had some of the doors boarded up, the roofs were patched with metal sheets, and the floors didn't have a speck of dirt on them, even working vending machines. I couldn't believe it. We walked through the checkpoint, the soldier in the balaclava showing an ID that was in his wallet in his pouch on his belt. Another trooper that I could only guess was a Military Police gave him a nod before we proceeded further into the building.
We proceeded through, then past a food court. He scanned a card on the door in front of us, opening it, sliding to the right. I walked in, following him, down some hallways, to a room that required another keycard.
He knocked on the door, then proceeded to say "Lieutenant! Got a POI."
After about 10-seconds of waiting, the soldier said to himself "Where the hell is he now?"
We then pushed back through where we came from and walked towards the food court.
The soldier told me to sit down anywhere, so I sat down in the corner of the food court in a nice cushion metal chair. The soldier walked off after telling me to "stay", like a dog. I sat there looking at clean salt and pepper shakers on the table and clear clean windows looking over the runway.
A girl walks over to me in olive-colored dress BDUs. She looks down at me before saying, "Oh you poor thing, looks like you been through a lot," she said as she looked me up and down. "I'll get you something fresh, you look like you haven't eaten too well," she concluded.
As she said that I looked up at her with wide eyes and my open mouth turned to a smile. She smiled back and walked to and through the bar, and into the kitchen. I sat there smiling, knowing there was someone friendly around. I was kind of hiding my cuffs in my lap, using my thighs to warm my hands. Blaire then sits down on the other side of me. My eyes popped.
"Blaire!" My brain trying to process why she was here, without cuffs on. "Blaire, how did you get here?" I questioned.
She responded simply with "I ran here".
"What about the guards?" I followed up.
"He just let me pass after I waved to him," she concluded.
I just looked at her with an unsure confused face. But I had to believe her as she was sitting right in front of me.
I sat back and just stared at Blaire. Before I could say anything else, the girl from before comes out with a plate. A Cheeseburger and a side of Freedom Frys! "Wow..." I gently said to myself. I have only seen this dish once in the vault!
