chapter 74
———Nathan's POV
With that, our Spring Break was over. The morning after everyone almost died, we had all packed our stuff and got into the truck. The drive only lasted an hour before it back to our regular lives. When Mom and Dad parked in front of our house, Loriana's car pulled up at that exact same time.
Hazel and Adonis were the first ones to get out of Loriana's car.
"Good morning, everyone! I hope you all had a safe stay" Hazel greeted.
"Relaxing is more like it" Jane clarified.
Adonis threw his arms over Aiden and Lillian's shoulder.
"Did you enjoy chaperoning the brats?"
Aiden huffed. "It was more like having to chaperone my own wife."
"Um, excuse you?! I had to stop you from smoking your lungs out" Lillian argued.
"Ah, who cares~?" Adonis said. "He smokes, I smoke, yet we're still alive and kicking. But, never leave me alone like that again."
"Why? You missed us bossing you around?" Aiden smirked.
"Yeah, actually. It was weird not hearing your nagging and then tasting Mitten's famous tea first thing in the morning."
Nora was next to get out of Loriana's car.
"How was your stay?"
"Better knowing you weren't there to bug us" I smugly smirked.
"I could say the same thing, Nat. Since Norm and Sophie were my guests, I didn't need to hear any...well, cringey conversations."
"Lori, how was she?" Mom asked.
"She and Norm are still in their terrible two's" Loriana shook her head. "Poor Sophie had to be the one to even them out."
"How did you and Victor handle them on top of handling your babies?"
"...The power of parenting? I don't know how, I just did. So, what's with the extra luggage?"
"Just changing up our wardrobe a little" Jane answered. "You know, for after."
"Oh, Mom showed you guys the storage closet~?"
"Yup" Zane answered. "A whole mall's worth of clothing."
"Hey, how about we...not talk about that on a daily basis?" Mom suggested.
"Sir, I shall drive you back to Scarelet Rose" Hazel announced. "Mistress, Miss Loriana, Mr. Adonis, please accompany us there."
Mom raised an eyebrow.
"...Is something wrong, Hazel?"
"I'm not positive about this. However, I suspect something suspicious going on in our faculty" Hazel answered. "So, I came here on free will to tell you, so you can declare your thoughts."
"...Alright, then. You all, get inside the house! I'll be back soon."
"Wait, what about my car?" Loriana asked.
"Oh, Abigail and Rebecca are driving it back" Hazel answered.
Dad, Mom, Loriana, and Adonis soon got into the truck. Before Hazel hopped into the driver's seat though, she gave a quick, stern glance at me before getting in.
That was weird.
After I unlocked the door, we soon stepped inside the house.
"I wonder what was so important that Hazel had to drag Miss Lillian with her" Jane said.
