chapter 1
———Nathan's POV
BEEP! BEEP! CLICK!I turn away from my clock, trying to go back to sleep.
Two minutes. Just two more min—
"YOU'RE NOT SLICK NATHAN, GET UP!!"
Fuck.
I pulled the covers off of me angrily and walked to my bathroom. After a few minutes, I got out and slipped on a white short-sleeved collar shirt with my black jeans and white Air Force 1.
I grab my favorite pocket knife, a black one that has a red snake on it, and tuck it into my pants. I pack a few more knives and put some in my shoe.
I grab a black hoodie and my book bag before walking through my door.
"Nate, wait."
I turned around to see my little sister, Nora, walking out of her room. She was dressed in a burgundy short sleeved collared shirt with a black skirt and white sneakers with black long socks.
"Could you drop me off at school today?"
"Doesn't Mom normally drive you?" I asked.
"I know but I want you to do it this time" Nora answered. "Please?"
"Why would you—" I groaned. "You know what, fine. Just don't annoy me."
"NATHAN, HURRY UP AND GET YOUR BREAKFAST BEFORE NORA EATS IT ALL!! YOU KNOW HOW PASSIONATE SHE IS ABOUT FOOD!!"
My eyes widened as my sister and I glanced at each other. Without second thought, we bolt down the stairs towards the kitchen.
"Well, good morning you two" Mom greeted.
Mom had an olive skin tone, but a bit more tanned with bright, golden yellow eyes that always reminded me of a hawk. She was 5'5 in height and looked fairly young, despite the slight discolored eye bags under her eyes that made her look older. She wore a white, long sleeve buttoned shirt, denim jeans, and white, fuzzy slides as her light brown, elbow length hair with white highlights was tied up into a messy bun.
"Mornin' Mom." I grabbed my plate of large pancakes and bacon just before my sister's greasy hands could snatch it.
"Oh, come on~" Nora complained. "I thought you loved me, Nate."
"I don't love you enough to give you my breakfast on an empty stomach" I rolled my eyes.
"Nathan, don't be so rude to your sister. She wants food just as much as you do." Mom handed her another plate. "However, Nora, you don't have the stomach capacity to eat pancakes that big."
Nora pouted. "It's not fair."
"Yes, yes, now come drink this tea." Mom began pouring her favorite jasmine flavored tea into a see through glass cup.
I walked out of the kitchen and noticed my three best friends already downstairs.
"Oh, good morning Sin!" Jane greeted.
Jane was dressed in a white, long sleeve buttoned shirt with a black and white plaid skirt, long black socks and long black boot heels. She was 5'4, the shortest out of the four of us. Her fair skin framed out her turquoise eyes and long blonde hair, that was now put into a high ponytail.
I hummed at Jane, flopping onto the couch next to Zane.
Zane had on a dark grey hoodie with black jeans and black and white sneakers. He was 5'7, as tall as me, and his light skin had a somewhat honey glow to it. His grey-blue eyes stared down at his phone while the hood of his hoodie sat on top of his brown hair.
