Birds.

That's all Kira could hear at that moment.

Where am I? Wait, now that I think about it, I was hiding again, wasn't I?  Her thoughts rang

Kira wiggled around until her face was facing the tree branches above. The sun peaks through the branches and glares at her in the face.

Closing her eyes, she let the sun color her vision.

It was a peaceful day, besides Kira hiding from a bulldog in a tree, far from home.

Her mind shifted to one person she knew would probably panic.

Her mom.

Kira felt tears form in her eyes. Trying not to cry, she took a couple of deep breaths, reassuring herself that she would find her way home soon. As Kira's thoughts become consumed by doubts and reassurance, she hears commotion down below.

"Come on Deku! Hurry up!"

"Kachan! Slow down! I can't keep up!"

"Honestly Deku, you can never keep up with anyone can you?"

She listens to the strange commotion below her. The voices seem to belong to a couple of kids around her age, however, she couldn't tell if it was female or male.

"I can't help the fact I'm smaller than you..." One of the new voices whined in protest.

"So? You can still keep up, right?"

Kira blinked at that statement.

That was kinda mean. She thought.

She continued listening to the conversation until she felt herself plummet.

It was all in slow motion, yet it happened so fast...

The sensation made her stomach churn and caused her head to spin.

She couldn't speak, couldn't scream, so she just fell, right on top of a young blonde-haired boy.

"Oh my Goodness! Kachan are you ok??" a green-haired boy chirped next to the now fallen boy.

"I'm ok..." The boy grumbled. "Hey! You! Are you good?"

Kira stayed quiet. Her voice still had not reached her from the fall yet.

Her silence only seemed to make things worse. "HEY! I'M TALKING TO YOU! WHAT'S YOUR DEAL?"

Kira stayed firm.

The boy got up and continued to glare at Kira. "Well, are you ok?"

Kira felt her tears regather in her eyes. "I-I-I'm sorry. I-I didn't mean to..." She started trying to mask her sorrow.

The green-haired boy came over to her and stood next to her.

The blonde boy looked away.

"I think she fell because a branch broke or something." The boy comforting Kira pointed to the tree to give an example.

Kira tried again to explain herself. "I-I did fall."

The blonde looked back, deciding to try again.

"You still didn't answer my question." He said bluntly. "Are you ok?"

Kira looked at him. She wiped her tears and nodded. "Are you?" she asked in return.

The boy wiped his nose and smiled. "Heh, Don't worry 'bout me! I'm tough!"

Kira smiled.

The green-haired boy helped her calm down the rest of the way and they started walking together and chatting.

"What's your name?" The green hair boy asked Kira excitedly

"Kira"

"Nice to meet you! I'm Izuku, and he's Kachan!"

"Kachan? That's an interesting name."

"What? No no no, my name isn't Kachan. It's Katsuki. Katsuki Bakugou, you can just call me Bakugou though."

"Oh. Ok, It's nice to meet you both, uh, I'm sorry for the weird intro."

"Hey, I said don't worry! I'm tough."

"Ok."

"So Kira, what were you doing up in that tree?" Deku asked.

"Hiding," Kira admitted. She wasn't one to lie to kids her age.

This seemed to pique Bakugou and Izuku's interest. "What happened?" Bakugou asked.

"It was just a dog...you don't have to worry."

"Oh."

The blonde deflated.

"Even if it wasn't a dog, we probably would have gotten in trouble if we did anything, Kachan." Izuku added.

Kachan scoffed.

Kira laughed. "Don't worry, if anyone came my way I could take care of them."

Bakugou shook his head. "Says the one who ran away from a harmless animal."

"That doesn't matter!" Kira said, puffing out her chest.

"Does too."

"Does not! Take that back!"

"Alright, alright."

"Hey, it's getting close to lunch. We should head back, Kachan." Izuku said looking at his watch.

"Yeah..." Bakugou mumbled. He looked at Kira and then at Izuku. "Hey! Why don't we take Kira with us."

Izuku's eye's lit up. "Hey! I was thinking that too!"

Kira felt herself light up too, if they were headed back to the city, that meant she could go home.

The two boys looked at her expectantly. She smiled.

"Ok! I'll come!" She said, "I am a bit hungry."

The boys smiled and then promptly whisked their new friend away to eat lunch with them.

Kira smiled.

She had never made friends before, today that seemed to have changed.

I hope that we'll be friends for a long time! She thought.
