Alexis

"Can you hurry up before we're late?" Ariana asked as she stood in my doorway.

"I don't wannnaaaaaaa," I whined.

Today was the first day of sophomore year & I was dreading on going. I didn't feel like being bothered at all I just wanted to lay in bed. Sad right?

"I'm leaving you," she said before walking away.

"Bye," I said shrugging.

Living with Ariana has become so overwhelming. Everything was good when she first moved in, but now she's so damn annoying & she complains about almost everything.

I dragged myself out of bed & went to my bathroom. I grabbed a wash cloth from my cabinet & ran some warm water over it before washing my face. I use to love school, but now I just don't want to be seen. After everything that happened before freshman year ended, I know people are going to try to swarm me with questions & it's still going to be tension about Brian, Sebastian, & Kees being gone. Kees, I miss him so much.
I sighed & took a quick hot shower to try to wash some of this funk off that I'm feeling & surprisingly, it helped.
I knew I was going to be late on the first day, but I literally didn't care. Plus my mom isn't here to see it anyway.

I heard a knock on my door making me throw on my robe & slowly, dramatically walk towards it.

"Yes?"

"Hey, are you almost ready? I don't want you to be late. I guess Ariana took the school bus," James said making me roll my eyes at the last sentence.

"That's on her. I'll be ready in 15," I said before giving him a small smile & closing my door.

I quickly lotioned up my body & threw on my clothes before fluffing my hair to make sure it was my signature look.

Grabbing my phone & backpack, I walked downstairs & saw James sitting on the couch typing on his laptop.

"Ready," I said before he got up & grabbed his keys off the table.
I followed him outside to the car & jumped in the passenger seat.

"How are you this morning Alexis?" He asked starting the conversation as he pulled out of the driveway.

"I was in a bad mood at first, but I'm good now. I think I wanna try out for basketball this year & maybe go back to dance junior & senior year. I'm not sure yet," I expressed.

"What if you like basketball more?" He asked.

"I doubt I will. Dancing is my passion, it's what I love. I just need a little break from it that's all & I'm not letting my scholarship go to waste," I said before he nodded his head.

It was true, I still wanted to make dancing a career, but right now my focus isn't there & the last thing I want to do is embarrass myself again.

Pulling up to the school, I immediately spotted Dominic & the rest of the crew. "See you later James. I'll be riding with Dominic after school," I said before getting out of the car & walking over to them.

"Lovaaaaa," he said making me smile warmly & hug him tight.

"Stop acting like you don't see me damn near everyday," I said.
