it's been quite a while since I've gotten an idea.

tw: disassociating, abuse, angst
so how this would work is the reader could be a past lover / dead lover to dream.

as he is in prison he is constantly remembering the times the reader and him would spend together. now this is when quackity is abusing dream, so when quackity goes to hit dream he flinched then kinda disassociates. while dream disassociates he travels to his personal hell which is limbo.

while dream is in limbo, all he sees is a landscape but it's white and there is a tree in the distance with a swing, which appears to have the reader sitting on it and slowly swinging. then they call out to dream, running up to him then he swings them around then hugs them. dream is crying at this point, not for what you assume, no, it's a mixture of sad and happy tears.

tears of sadness because he knows he can't revive his lost love, but tears of happiness because he can finally see them and vent finally be able to talk about his problems without being judged. george and sapnap wouldn't mind, but then the conversation escalated a bit.

well, you may wonder 'why can't dream revive his dead lover?'

reason behind this is because dream made a deal with XD, who is dream's brother. the deal was not to fall in love, but if he fell in love it would reduce his lovers lives to one canon life. it's unfortunate because dream fell in love the reader who is part siren.

it's quite hard not to fall in love the reader (because who wouldn't?) because they are part siren, it's known that you can resist a sirens song but very rare. dream was the one of the unlucky people to fall in love the reader..

and the reader died an unfortunate death from a kiss. they were kissing dream in the enchanted lake (the reader was in siren form, and dream was laying on the grass by the water.) and tommy took the chance to take away something important to him because dream took his discs away from him.

(dream ended up falling in the water and turning to part axolotl [headcannon for you] )

as soon as dream realized that tommy assassinated his lover. nightmare, which is his alternate personality, just snapped. nightmare took away one of tommy's canon lives and severely wounded tommy, and threatened him beyond what was needed. and took the extra step of even threatening techno to keep tommy in check, or he would exile tommy tenfold.

techno and nightmare fought for a good 15 minutes and techno left a scar on dream/nightmare's right eye.

going back to the limbo, as dream is hugging the reader, their wings envelopes dream and them in a hug which's leads to leaning their heads together then kissing for the last time. then pulling apart, as they do this the reader noticed that dream had cried a single tear then wiped it off his cheek.

dream then looks around, and sees his first and last love. gone.
then he reassociates back to his cell. quackity is about to strike dream's arm with his axe, but then noticed dream was... crying?

(dream vowed to himself that he would never date again, and cut off any emotional ties)
