(this is not a request, simply just a story idea) I had an idea, what if you made a DreamXD or Dream ̇x mermaid reader.
the reader can live out of the water, but if water touches them, they would turn into a mermaid, or would show some of their face as a mermaid. Kinda like how Luca functions (from Luca the Disney movie)
they could also have white eyes, but not blind, so they can —————- *what if the reader was a siren instead? (Pirate AU)*
they could lure in sailors and be turning them into the Drowned that lurk the bottoms of the oceans. Dream and his crew could be looking for an ocean monument and heard the reader singing.
Now as the captain Dream is well aware of the sirens that lurk about the ocean, he also knows that you're supposed to put in ear plugs, but he dropped them into the ocean while the ship was getting bombarded with Drowned.
So as a result he gets entranced by the reader. at the last moment, as he is running out of air, he regains his senses, but wishes to their face again.
bonus: we are friends with axolotls and dolphins. The kind-hearted dolphins can lead you to Amethyst geode. Axolotls are fun to play with as they help find ores in the lavish cave systems.
(It is also up to you what song you want the reader to sing to entrance Dream (or other mcyt) but I recommend Putting a Spin on Riptide by Egg, Come Little Children by Erutan. Or any other songs of the artist Egg. There is also Pierre by Ryn Weaver)
