George stared out the window as rain poured instead of snow. The streets of London were busy as always, families going home from dinner out, tourists frantically flagging down cabs, lovers kissing under streetlights, cats wandering the wet, slushy streets. He loved this weather, even if it was kind of gross.
Dream decided to play his music, as he was the driver, and the only one in the front seat. He had one of their albums on, and George thought it perfectly fit their surroundings. Or- at least it was better than the music he would have played.
Sapnap yawned quietly from where he laid his head against the window and slept. George looked over, and admired his friend a bit. The way the dim street lights and red rear lights from the cars around them painted Sap's skin was angelic. His hair swished to the right, puffing up and down in uneven but perfect waves. It was almost long enough to put in a ponytail now. His eyes had bags under them, but they were still bright and full of wonder. His black painted nails were chipped at the edges from chewing, but still skillfully painted so that not even a single drop was on his skin. His chin had some thick, uneven stubble, but it suited Sapnap.
"He's cute, isn't he?" Dream softly asked, glancing back at George in the rearview mirror with heavy lidded eyes. George looked at him in embarrassment for a second, before looking back at the sleeping boy beside him.
"..Yeah. Yeah, I suppose he is." George softly smiled to himself, hesitantly placing a hand atop Sapnap's thigh. Dream smiled and looked back at the road, steadily navigating the surprisingly busy streets. "Hey Clay?"
"Mh?" The blonde hummed and tilted his head a bit to his left over his shoulder, while still facing the road.
"Er.. Where are we going exactly?"
"There's a bakery I wanted to visit really quick to grab a few surprises for you and Nick." George mouthed an 'ah' and leaned back in his seat, tapping his own thigh with the hand he wasn't using. "But... that wasn't your real question, was it?" George stopped tapping his thigh and grinned into a yawn.
"Hm. No." George confirmed, leaning his head atop the arm he let rest on the window.
"Well?" Dream glanced to meet George's eyes in the mirror, tapping his fingers softly against the wheel.
"... I guess..." George sighed and looked down at his lap. "I guess I'm just... confused."
"About?" Dream raised an eyebrow.
"About like... well.. like... here," George sat up straight and leaned over the center console, staring at the road ahead. "I... I think I've like... fallen out of love. With Jules, of course. And it's not that I feel guilty about it or anything- it's just that like... I think that I fell out of love because I fell in love.." Dream relaxed his grip on the wheel a bit, not realising it was ever as tight as he had it, and he looked to his side for a quick second at George.
"Well, that's perfectly fine, y'know? It's not like you can like, choose who you fall in or out of love with, or when." Dream offered, turning into the parking lot and scoping out an open spot.
"Yeah but like... It's not like.. I don't know I'm like, confused." George shook his head and rested his hands on his forehead. Dream turned into a spot and parked, resting an arm in front of George and looking down at him.
"What's got you so confused, George?" Dream spoke low and softly, letting George take a second to think. George closed his eyes and hesitated, already overthinking the reactions he might get.
"Well... I think I..." George rubbed his eyes in frustration with himself. "I think I fell in love with...." Dream sighed and put a reassuring hand on George's back.
