The Planet

Captain Ori Krendassh hails from the Veronian system, home to the Veronians. The Veronians had pink skin, yellow eyes and blue hair. The Veronian systen was only a few light years away from the Sol System, home of the terrans from Earth.

She studied in the Lunar Naval Academy, where she trained with small craft alongside numerous other aspiring cadets. After she graduated, she joined the Exploratory division of  the UN Joint Naval Force, a dream she had been hoping ever since she was a child. She took command of the UNSS Firebird, and quickly became well respected amongst it's crew, still serving as the Captain for 3 years.

The UNSS Firebird, a Forester class medium exploratory vessel is cruising at an FTL speed of 1.35 Light Years per hour. Their mission is to find new worlds with possible signs of civilization.

In the bridge, Captain Ori Krendassh sits on her captain's chair. To her left is the First Officer of the ship, Commander Matthew Stryder, A capable and fair officer. And two navigators piloting the ship in front of them, Lieutenants Berel Onia, (An Ocrusian) and Sam Derrick.

"What's our current position?" Captain Ori says. The navigators replies, "We're currently in the Deina system, 8.3 light years from the nearest UN starbase."

The navigator Berel suddenly detects a primitive radio transmission coming from a nearby planet.
"I'm picking up...radio signals?" The captain thinks there must be a Pre-FTL civilization on the planet. "It's Deina II, it's a continental world, of course a civilization might be on it." Navigator Derrick adds.

"Captain, i might suggest initiating First Contact with them. The restrictions don't apply because they did contact us." The FO adds. "Good point FO. Navigators, take us in." The two lieutenants reply, "Aye sir." They begin slowing down to Sub-FTL speeds, arriving at the planet in less than a minute, the ship orbits the planet, setting their speed to match the planet's orbit.

"That's strange." The navigator says while looking at the planet's scans. "I'm picking up the radio transmission, but the civilization down there looks too primitive to even think of one." "Curious." The captain replies. "It looks like several civilizations are down there, they haven't unified themselves yet. It still might be worth contacting the natives." Navigator Derrick finds a suitable position for a landing. "This hill right here sir. It's a perfect place to set up a base."

"I agree. I'll send down a team with the Researchers, Explorers, and Marine unit we have.  FO, you have the conn." "Yes ma'am..."

The bridge's viewscreen displayed a magnified view of Deina-II or as the natives call it, Falmart.
