I woke up the next morning feeling awful. My head was pounding, and lets not forget the massive cramps that made it nearly impossibe for me to stand up. Thank you for your monthly gift, mother nature.
Groggily standing up from my bed, I decided to throw on a pair of sweat pants, and a t-shirt. Hey, I wasnt looking to impress anyone. School is about learning, not about who looks the prettiest. I threw my long brown hair into a messy bun, and headed downstairs.
"Hey, sweetie!" My mother greeted me, "I've got pancakes for you and your brother on the table."
"Thanks mom." I said, while giving her a ginormous hug.
"Of course hon."
Just as I was about to take a bite of my scrumptious strawberry pancake, my phone beeped, meaning I had just recieved a text message.
If this is John, I swear on my grandmothers soul I will chop him into pieces.
He had been constantly contacting me over the past few weks, saying things like "It was a mistake that we broke up.", "We were meant for each other." You know, stupid crap like that. But it had been getting to the point where he was making it seem like I had no choice, like he was forcing me to be with him. Each time he texted, I blantantly ignored him. Maybe it was a good thing that I was going to Italy. Sure would get my mind off of a lot of things.
Hey! Could you pick me up? I promise I'll make it up to you. -Gina
Thank the lord. It was only Gina.
Yeah, sure. I'll be there in a few.
-LiliannaI was upset that I wouldn't be able to finish my pancake, but what can you do? Besides, I probably wouldn't have had enough time to finish it anyways. School started in fifteen minutes.
"Hey mom, I've gotta go... Where's Anthony?" I asked, while staring at his perfectly good breakfast on the table, probably cold by now.
"He slept over Emily's house last night."
"And you let him?!" I was surprised that my mom of all people would let my 18 year old twin brother sleep over a girls house. I mean, seriously? Who knows what they could have been doing.
"Yes Lilianna. I did. Frankly, its none of your business. Now go to school. I'm tired of hearing your voice."
Fed up with my mother, I quickly walked out of the front door and slammed it shut behind me. I knew I shouldn't have been prying into my brothers where abouts, but what could I say? I was worried about him. I just didn't want him to have a repeat of what happened to him during his junior year...
Hey, Gina. I'm outside. Hurry! -Lilianna
Alright! Grabbing my bag. What's gotten you in such a crabby mood? -Gina
Nothing! I really don't feel like being lectured by Mrs. Milotti this morning, so if you could please do me the honors of HURRYING YOUR ASS UP that would be greatly appreciated. -Lilianna.
Oh stop getting your panties in a twist. Walking to your car. -Gina
I unlocked the door for Gina, and sped off as soon as it shut.
"Alright, now spill it. Why are you so upset?" She asked me, with her right eyebrow raised.
"I really don't have enough time to explain. Can we just spend the rest of this car ride in silence?" I responded, clearly annoyed.
"Gosh, at this rate I would have been better off catching a ride with my dead mom."
I ignored her snarky comment, and pulled into the school three minutes later. Great. We had a minute left until the bell rang, and my homeroom class was all the way in the back of the school. Gina was the more fortunate one, considering her homeroom was right next to the main office where we entered.
