Phoebe P.O.V
I put away my chemistry book while grabbing my advanced mathematics book. I felt someone tap my shoulder. I turned around and saw Cherry smiling at me.
"Hey Phoebe! What's the hap's?" She hugged me.
"Oh nothing. Sorry I haven't been able to talk to you. I've been so busy studying." I admit.
"Which is why you should come with me to Lindsey's party this weekend! Anyone can go, and it'd be great for you to actually get out of your house for once." She was right, but I wasn't always studying. I was training to become a superhero.
"I'll have to wait and see." She nodded her head and walked away from my locker.
I shut my locker just as Max came up to his locker beside mine.
"I thought you would've stood home like every day so far this year!" He scuffed at my sarcasm.
"And I would've thought you'd gotten rid of all that!" He used his pointer finger to circle my face.
I rolled my eyes at him and walked away. I headed towards my first period class: gym. I got to class just as the bell rung.
I changed into my gym clothes and headed back to start my warm ups. I pulled my leg one by one over my head to stretch out my legs. Cherry soon joined me.
"So what do you think of Max?" I followed Cherry's gaze to see Max lifting weights.
"Excuse me?" I rose my eyebrow at her.
"C'mon, Pheebs! He's cute! There's no denying that!" I shook my head at her and finished up my stretches.
Max and I have never been on good terms and never will be. My father, Thunderman, despises his "father", Dr. Collasso, on so many levels. My dad hopes for me to become a great superhero one day, and I will. I have too.
"Thunderman!" Coach Mike called my name, while stomping over to me, angrily.
"Yes?" I stopped stretching.
"This is not ballet class! It's gym class! Why don't you go and run on a treadmill or something, now!" He commanded.
I followed his command and jogged over to an open treadmill. I was soon poked on the shoulder by my other friend, Emily.
"I was going to use that." She waited for me to get off of the machine. When I didn't, she walked away rolling her eyes.
I started up the treadmill and started to jog. I heard Emily's girly giggle. I followed the sound to see her standing in front of Max, watching him lift weights. I strong force fell upon me, so I looked away and focused on my jogging.
I replayed that moment over and over in my head until I tripped on my own foot and fell off the treadmill.
I kept my eyes shut out of embarrassment. I felt someone help me up to my feet. I opened my eyes to see Max's arms around me.
"Are you okay?" In that moment, he seemed like he had a heart, until he let go of me.
"I mean, nice trip loser!" He started to laugh as everyone joined him. Coach Mike came over and applied pressure to my ankle.
"Ow!" I pulled my aching foot away from him. He threw my arm over his shoulder and walked me over to the nurse.
Isn't this a great day to be me?
