Upon reaching land, Brian took off his now dry pelt and hid it in his bag. "Aha! More of those whale stealing boats are docking here, I bet if I can follow them and they'll lead me me George." He thought. It was a good thing he had on some clothes under his pelt or else it would make for a very awkward situation as he walked around. "What's this? Sea Planet: Now with real mermaids?"
The billboard he read off of had none other than a cartoonish drawing of what looked like George leaping through a ring of fire. "Oh God that's looks terrible! His chin is much too long and he looks terribly gaunt. Oh no matter, at least now I know where he's at! Now just to figure out how far he is from the ocean and if we can make a tunnel long enough to reach him. This Sea Planet is awfully landlocked for a park based around ocean life."
Back in the sea John needed some time to think, he always went near the underwater cliffs whenever he wanted to be alone or was frustrated. It was far from any land and coated with soft kelp for him to brush against, as well as the smooth rocks acting as a comb to scrape off the barnacles that kept trying to hitch a ride on his back. However it seemed today he had some company, the largest and to him most beautiful mermaid he had ever seen.
She was a sight to see, her blue fluke rested against the rocks, her soft blonde hair rested down at her shoulders as she ran her fingers through it and she had the cutest smile John had ever seen. "Whoa... But she's still in my spot!" John grumbled, swimming up to the newcomer. "Hey miss? You... Ummmm..... You are.. You... Are very pretty! No wait that came out wrong, I meant-"
The mermaid giggled, putting down the manatee she was petting. "I'm sorry, I didn't know you were going to come here. I just needed some time for myself, we just lost a member of our pod.."
"Oh, I'm so sorry. I always came here after my Mum was killed by those damn land dwellers, did something like that happen with you too?"
"Oh why yes! My Dad was shot by them, he managed to live for a few days but whatever he was hit with made him incredibly sick. We had to take him to the resting place after four days.." The mermaid mumbled, her face losing her once happy demeanor. "Oh! Where are my manners? My name is Cynthia, Cynthia Powell."
"Wow.. Pretty name for a pretty lady like you, I'm John Lennon. My Mum was the one that founded the Aqua Crew, we are all about keeping the land mammals from trying to invade our homes and dump their waste into the sea. Umm, maybe you'd like to come around and see us in action?"
"I'll think about it." Cynthia smiled, seeing her happy made John blush. "You seem like a nice person, why do you look so glum?"
"Have you heard about the Orca folk being plucked out of the sea? They're not killed, just taken on board those metal fish and hauled to land. Well a young orca merman was taken, his parents are counting on us to find him and bring him back unharmed."
"Oh my.. I have noticed there are very few of them around here lately, I didn't think those land folk would want anything to do with them. What do you think they're planning to do? Force him to humiliate himself on land?"
"Well with the way things are going in this chapter I would say so.. Umm.. You think we could get to know each other better? We never got to see an actual Big Blue around here, I-eerr we would like you to come on by! I'm sure you'll really like to see how we make sure everyone is safe and happy.. And hopefully George will be able to see this soon too."
"I'm sure he will, I'm large enough to make indents in even the strongest rocks!"
"You are? That gives me an idea!"
