Verona pulled me aside, "Do you want to kill him?"

"O...of course! I-he got my sister killed and murdered our alpha. I belong to this pack. I wouldn't side with the enemy." She slowly nodded her head.

Her brow creased. "I just want to know if you'll have a plan." I looked at Kenji that stood outside, looking back at me.

"You already know. I'll have a plan. For the Celestria eclipse pack, right?" I did a V with my fingers.

She did the same, "Victory will be ours. Now let's put them together so we'll make like a W." We laughed.

We both headed downstairs and reached outside. I froze once I saw Constantine and Emrys in a fight.

"What are you two dummies doing?" Verona rolled her eyes as I looked down.

I came here for one thing, which was to reminisce and all I got is two dumb boys fighting. I walked between them pushing them out of my way. I went along the road following the directions. I skipped till I reached her. Finally!

I pulled a rose out from a field of them and walked to where she has always been. "It's been a while since I've come to see you, mama. I just came to stop by, tell you how I'm doing. I would ask you but I'm pretty sure you know the reason why I can't." I put the rose on her grave. "You wouldn't even forget me, and I bet you have been worried sick about me." I looked up as the sun shined on me.

"..." Sometimes silence was all we needed. The quietness made my thoughts feel whole.

A few minutes went by and not a single interruption.

"They said I'd find you here," I spoke too soon.

"Might as well move her wouldn't want her to know there's a filthy bull near the premises." I looked up at him and laughed. "I'm joking! Don't worry you probably figured me out already."

"Everyone seems to want you to kill me. It makes me think...would you do it? To avenge your sister or family?" I stood up tilting my head.

"Depends, are you worth as much as my sister? Or the warriors, and the alpha who protected me for years" I allowed him to think on it, "If not...then killing you will not bring me satisfaction."

He looked down and followed me. "Are you upset with me?"

I lifted my chin, "Would it do any good to act on that anger? I will admit I was upset and partially still." I looked up and saw the car running, ready to go. "That doesn't make me vulnerable, or gullible. I may have turned a blind eye but that doesn't mean I'm lost when it comes to retribution." I opened the car door and sat in the middle.

"Do you think I got something stuck in between my teeth?" Verona asked me.

I shook my head.

"Good! I made myself broccoli this morning." I scrunched up my face horrified at the thought of eating broccoli.

"You're not too far off. You are one of the few that has ever stuck up for themselves." He said, "It's admirable." He whispered to me before looking straight ahead.

Fast forward

"Do you feel what I do?" He asked me. I turned around putting my clothes away.

"I don't know what you're talking about." He cupped my face.

"Mate...you said it when your friend was getting care. You brought up your alpha and his mate. It was clear to me that you know." I bit my cheek, turning my eye contact on something else.

"It doesn't matter..." I mumbled. "I'm fine with living a normal life away from everything here rather than to be someone who depends on their mate. It went nowhere for Luna Celestia and Alpha Cedric, other than being left broken." I ran to the restroom and grabbed a bottle of Tylenol. It took two to sustain the headache that annoyed me.

"Is that what you truly want?" He asked me, staring at me from the doorway.

"I want to live many lifetimes, seeing every bit of the world. I want to be a part of the human world. Where I'll be drinking lattes and watching too many movies, and heartbreaking shows..."

"If you were allowed to leave, where would you go?" I thought about it for a moment.

"I would go to where I would feel safe. Where my pack goes I would willingly follow." I turned off the light and pulled the covers over myself as I laid down on the comfy bed where I laid once.

"You have a strong bond with them." He admitted, taking his jewelry on. "If it were anybody else they'd switch easily. I guess your alpha did a good job on gaining your respect"

"He was amazing..." I laid down, my head on the pillow. I was a messy sleeper so if I wanted to sleep in an area I was going to do it.

"You look like a fish flopping around the bed trying to find an area to sleep." He chuckled.

"Well, this fish is trying to sleep." I placed my head on his chest and slowly started to feel tired. He rubbed my back for comfort.

Then I fell asleep.

I awoke yawning and stretching. I got up and went to the restroom to brush my teeth. I rinsed once I was done and put on a different outfit for today.

I walked out of the room and looked for Verona who stared at the kids that were playing.

"Feeling sympathetic?" I asked her.

She shook her head, crossing her arms. "No. Not even a little bit." She turned to look at me. "You came out of Emrys room which raises a lot of questions."

I licked my lips. "What kind of questions?" I gave her a curious stare, "I will not kill someone who doesn't provoke me. Then it'll take away the meaning of they get what they deserve."

"I knew you weren't going to go through with it. I guess the life of your sister along with her team didn't mean anything? The alpha who took your family in when y'all had nothing?" She scuffed. "You owe them your life! You would not be where you are today if not for them. You promised that you would do everything you could to protect our pack when you took that oath. Do not let our Luna down..."

I side-eyed Constantine who stayed quiet.

"Fine! I'll see when is the perfect time." I walked away, leaving with such a dangerous demeanor, one that I was not fully wanting.

She's right. They offered my family shelter, food, and a lovely place to grow up around. For me to turn my cheek just because of some mate bond...is irrational.

If they want him dead then I will do it.
